If you think AO and AE are better than SW, why not make AO/AE-themed titles, instead of SW ones? Here's a good list of AO/AE-themed title ideas:

This will also help SW and CS fans learn about AO/AE. When they come here, they will ask about these titles, and learn about AO and AE. Finally, they will get a PlayStation, and really become dedicated to Oddworld.

Stranger's Wrath was awesome. And personally I don't think it matters what the titles are. Nobody pays attention to them anyway.

I'm quite happy with the SW titles and I've never played the game, although I can see the advantage of keeping some old ones I think OWF should evolve with Oddworld to keep things 'dynamic' (And I use that term loosely).

I believe there used to be AO/AE sytled titles, seem to remember being a Slurg at one point. They were changed pre-SW release just to make some sort of an update to amp up SW I guess. can't think properly but THEMS THE FACTS.

We used to have titles based on our pre‐Stranger understanding of Oddworld, but they were changed a long time after Stranger’s Wrath came out. Here’s something to throw at you: I actually devised the current SW‐themed status levels.

Why would it? MO contains all the creatures from AO/E plus more.

MO doesn't contain Elums, Sloggies, Flying Sligs, Crawling Sligs, Bigface, Shrykull, Fleeches, Slurgs, Greeters, Bees, Bats, and Hint Flies.

Although the game does not strictly contain the ones in your list, they're still in the oddworld universe that MO is set in.

So are the creatures in SW. Only Most of SW creatures aren't included in other games. MO and SW are set in the same universe.

"MO" is simply "pre-SW". It had slurgs in it. It had a lot of MO's industrialist ranks.

It didn't. The MO ranking system did.

When I looked at it, it reminded me of Oddworld more than the SW system. I'm more used to Mudokons and Glukkons, than to Outlaws and Wolvarks.

What does it matter if your used to it or not? Its just a title, it serves no purpose but to make people feel better about themselves when it changes.

Ehh, the rep system is used for that purpose now.

I do not believe there were ever any ranks other than the MO ones, as the Oddworld Forums came into existence during the lead-up to MO's release.

We did have them ages ago, as said above, as I remember though, they were changed post SW, which was a welcomed change, but now I do wish, we had the old ones, or at least a combination.
And what I mean by combination, is instead of replacing each other, during the free intervals, you will become one of the old ranks.
For example, it seems i'll be the same rank for a while now, because I'm past 1000 posts, but if every 100 or so posts we became say a mudokon, that would be a nice change.
Otherwise, it doesn't realy matter, and people who have custum titles, i.e. the mods, who have the power to change it, probably won't care anyway.

I don't recognise lots of titles in the old system. It would still be cool to have every species/robot from every Oddworld game to be a part of the title system. I think that you care about the title system, otherwise wouldn't even make it. Most of the forum wants it like this. Even if the title system doesn't matter to some people, I think that people like to be reminded of the Mudokons and Scrabs. From what I've read, they started it all for them. Many people (like me) still play AO regularly. Just because SW is new, doesn't mean it's better.

I will never, ever make a combined list of 80-odd titles which I will then put into a nice order and present to Alcar as a proposed new set of ranks.

You can at least have some titles from AO/AE/MO, and some from SW, just not every single title from SW.

There will probably be CS themed titles when CS comes out. It will be probably better when ME is released -- there will probably be more old titles. And read thread titles, Jordan. I never said he's going to change them. It's just an idea.

By the time CS and ME are released, you won't even care anymore.

I have always been interested in the title system, and I always will be.
