Fallout 1,2,3. WTF man?
 

Ok, this thread is about Fallout. Fallout is an rpg GOD. If you disagree, I hate you. If you have no idea about the game, wikipedia.org exists for you. I will not sate your ignorance filled mind-hunger.

So, for anyone who played the game or indulged in the fountain of wikipedian knowledge, do you think Bethesda is going to ruin it? They ruined oblivion, but they have done well in the past. Morrowind, obviously. Fallout one and two are very dear to me, and to have that series brutalized would likely mean my lack of happiness. Sure, they seem to have some good ideas. I like the whole third person thing, I like the V.A.T.S., and I like the story (so far). But I'm not sure. Will anyone give me an assuring e-hug? Or will your thoughts on the matter do?

You shouldn't include an option like option 4, you can pretty much guarantee that it's going to be picked by someone.

I'm neutral, I've never played the Fallout games and I don't intend to, but I predict it will be worse, not because of Bethesda specifically, but because it's a different company making the game.

Yeah, way to go, I like Fallout and am looking foward to Fallout 3, but I hate you just a bit more than my interest for Fallout.

How was Oblivion worse? If anything, it was more playable then the month-long bore-fest that was Morrowind. Spending 20 minutes trying to swing a rusty dagger at a rat was terrible in and of itself.

First time I played it, I went straight to Balmora, when I was released from Seyda Neen. I kinda attacked some dude, and it took me an hour to kill him! he was a mage type, so i was running around, dodging the attacks, and trying to hit him... That was horrible!

I like how the poll results turned out. Alot!

Anyway, Bethesda should do fine with Fallout.

Well, the gameplay was a little ehh but the immersion and the overall world was much better designed. More Roleplaying then Game, but it was still fun to explore. (The combat was much better when you were leveled.)

Why did I not enjoy oblivion as much? It was dumbed down a lot for one, and second it was empty and boring. It was just forests and gray castles/dungeons. No imagination. In Morrowind there were mushroom cities. I loved the mushroom cities. But I see where you are coming from. It was somewhat... slow.

Edit: Chubfish, that was the work of one of the many mods who despise me. I can smell it.

The only thing Oblivion had over Morrowind was graphics and a good combat system. Otherwise, Morrowind wins at everything. Longevity, more immersion, less annoying NPCs, character, no fucking 'turn back here!!'s, no leveled loot and enemies (therefor, a sense of achievement) and a main quest that took longer than 6-8 hours to complete.

Oblivion is good, but about a quarter as good as Morrowind.

Cliff Racers.

Good outweighs bad. Cliff Racers get a hugely bad rap but they're only annoying to low level amatuers such as yourself.

Still, when 40 of the bastards aggro you over your travels and ambush you outside of a mine....

Whatever. A game is supposed to be fun, and Morrowind was not fun in the begininng. Oblivion was, which is why I got into it and finished it.

Yeah, I've started looking more into it and it seems, with the inclusion of dogmeat, that they are really going to keep it as canonically correct as possible.

I wouldn't be so sure...
