Can someone who's viewed this please explain why this shouldn't be merged into Bits & Pieces?

Wings of Fire 03-18-2008 09:23 AM

Read the news article :S the video is just bad taste on DK's part.

This blows my view on media influences rather out the window.

Sick...Sure, you might find it funny since you obviously don't know the kid or his distraught friends and relatives, but can you please not be so stupid?

Strike Witch 03-18-2008 11:48 AM

Meh, stupid people who do stupid things and kill themselves are stupid. No point crying over spilt milk, especially if it was off in the first place.

Zozo the Zrilufet 03-18-2008 11:57 AM

They were kids. It was an accident, how many people that age know they can drown in sand? I still think its sick, however whingy people think I am. What do you mean by the milk being off in the first place, do you mean teh joke is bad or the boy died of a silly thing?

Strike Witch 03-18-2008 09:12 PM

He tried to bury himself upside down in a sand pit to get Sand Powers. According to the actual show, that is not how you get sand powers. Not only was he a gullible idiot, he had a short attention span.

Zozo the Zrilufet 03-19-2008 12:18 AM

The article said they were playing a game, it didn't say anything of sand powers. I think they would of been pretending anyways.

OK, it could be that 10-year-olds don't know the difference between fiction and reality (at least, not all of them does; strong imagination and all). But that is why they need adult supervision. Not continuous, just a glance, maybe, every 5 minutes. Digging a hole deep enough to bury a 10-year old from head to chest would take some time, supposing they used "sandbox-equipment". So, where was this half-brother guy when this happened? Or the parents of the kid?
