Where can I find the cutscenes?

I was looking on youtube among other sources for a compilation of odd world cut scenes too no avail. I would like to see these cutscenes again, and if anyone knows were I could see them via browser, I would be greatful. but if there isn't such a compilation, oh well.

I was about to start a new thread asking if anyone has any of the In game videos available (Apart from the Target Practice one on the Oddworld Library) from Strangers Wrath, but I'll just ask here instead. Does anyone know where I can find them?

Xavier 02-09-2008 09:03 AM

In game movies have to be recorded... they can't be decompiled from the game's source.
So I guess you have to find a way to record it

Fuzzle Guy 02-09-2008 09:04 AM

Hmm, that should keep me busy lol. Thanks.

Xavier 02-09-2008 09:19 AM

if you actually do it I'd love to host them on TOC ;)

You need a DVD recorder to record the movies of games into a DVD.

Fuzzle Guy 02-10-2008 01:19 AM

Ah, you are correct. I'll borrow the DVD recorder from downstairs and hook it up to my tv, start Stranger again with invincibility on (So I can fly through it just to get to the In Game movies.) As soon as I've done it I'll send them to Xavier.

Hmm I can't remeber the format, but im pretty certain you can view native xbox movie files with some tool and/or convert them too. Take a look at the files on the disk (I think you'll need a tool for that also actually..) I used to beable to ftp into my xbox and view whats the the dvd, but I sold it a while ago.

Fuzzle Guy 02-10-2008 09:28 AM

It's alright, I've managed to record them. I'm ripping them off the dvd as we speak.

Are you talking about the BIK files? I already extracted those, converted to avi and uploaded on TOC. :p

I didn't came across some other movie files when I was playing with the source files

Fuzzle Guy, good job :D

Fuzzle Guy 02-11-2008 01:16 PM

I should have these done by the end of the week. They're taking a long time though because they're huge files (I had to record hours upon hours of it because It's been so long sinced I played it I've forgotten where all the in game movies are) So I'm having to rip hours of fim off the disc, which tends to fill up the whole hard drive, meaning I can only do a few in game movies at once.

Xavier 02-11-2008 10:41 PM

If your files are truly huge, how do you plan sending them to me? MegaUpload or something?

Bullet Magnet 02-12-2008 12:27 AM

http://www.ministry-of-information.c.../291005-14.jpg

Clue: the disk (in a stamped and addressed
envelope) goes in the little hole in the top.

Wil 02-12-2008 01:41 AM

And if the files are really huge, many people might be dissuaded from downloading them.

Bullet Magnet 02-12-2008 01:57 AM

They're only big because he's recording his entire gameplay. I'm sure once he's edited the cut scenes out they will be of regular size. His point is that dealing with such huge file sizes, a necessary evil of his method, is slowing down production.

I recommend investing in labour eggs.

Yeah those are the ones, whats the problem then, some are missing?

Wil 02-16-2008 02:46 PM

The problem is only that we’re talking about the in‐game, realtime cutscenes, not the pre‐rendered FMVs.

How’s it going, Fuzzle Guy?

Fuzzle Guy 02-16-2008 02:52 PM

It's taking quite a long time because there was so much, so I've only edited out a couple of them.

The first one with the Grubbs (the first time we meet them as the SteeF)
Skycart Joe
"Damn, they know I'm a Steef" video.

I did have the ones where Raider has hung the Doc and the short one after the FMV (when you first play as a Steef) But the borrowers have done away with those two so I'm just sticking the three I've got into a RAR file to send to Xavier, till I find them again.

caracal 03-03-2008 12:57 PM

hmmm from all these cutscenes, which have some good pics of Paramites?

Wil 03-03-2008 02:28 PM

Paramites only appear in ‘Abe’s Moon’ (STR0124), ‘Paramite Vision’ (STR0199), and ‘Good Ending’ (STR0796) in Abe’s Oddysee.

caracal 03-03-2008 06:09 PM

wow, really? there isnt any paramites in the AE and MO FMVs? I'm surprised...those beauties should steal ALL the screentime :p:fuzcool:
