I'm going to be Principal For A Day at my school

I had to do a paper on why I'd want to be a Principal, and somehow it won. But there's a catch, I can't exactly RULE the school as if a REAL principal could. I think I'll just be helping
around or something, but I'm somewhat worried since I'll be missing work and I don't enjoy
hours at home catching up in Math and all of that when I could be enjoying the very little
time I get off. (Look though, I get up at 6AM and don't get back until 2:00 PM. And I spend
about two hours on homework a night. So I only get about four hours actually enjoying
myslef except for weekends and vacations.)

So this is probably going to rule, but kinda suck at the same time. My mom gets mad whenever I mention just having a regular day at school instead of being Principal and
having to waste five hours trying to catch up afterwords.

If it's really going to be that lame for you to have the power, have your first act as principal for the day as appointing someone else as principle for the day, and forget what your mom says. It's not like being the principle for the day gives you a gold star that will give you any advantage at all over fellow students. Explain why you gave it up to your mom, and if she dosen't get the picture, just don't bring it up again.

But if it's fun for ya, just try not to worry about the work, since it'll put a dampner on the rest of the day. You'll get around to it eventually.

And try to get some work done in class. It should save you some of the two hours after school. But if it's just giving you enough trouble so it takes you a long time to get stuff done, maybe you should think about trying to get extra help with your stuff so you understand it and don't spend as much time.

I apologize if you see this as me thinking you're stupid, I'm just considering the fact you might not know your stuff if you're taking hours to get one subject done, since I don't really see a teacher giving that kind of workload every day.

You get home at 2pm? Wow, I usually got home at 4pm, if not 6pm. X_x
And I usually wake up at 6:00 too.
There was a competition for it, so obviously somene thought it was a good thing, and besides, it's just a day, it's an opportunity, I'm sure loads of others are jeleous, take it. ;)
Anyways, why did you write the paper if you didn't want to do it?
Trust me, it's one of those things that you won't want to do when you have the chance, and then wish you did when it's too late.
Who cares what the teacher's say, use it as an excuse, claim you're giving free detentions and taking away homework, start taking bribes, have fun.
But if it's one of those things which teachers considerer "fun", and it's realy lame and you hate it, as does everyone else, as mitsur said, just appoint someone else.
I mean, you don't have to take this principal for a day thing serirously.
Anyways, you're European right? I'm guessing by the school times, I did an exchange there, and school was realy different, and seemed to struggle realy hard on it, so maybe work is a realy big thing over here, in my life, I always manage to find time for free time/ work/ sport every day. So yeah, maybe I can't help you.

My main question relates to the formatting of your post:

*Clears throat*

What's goin' on there?

Oh, and if you have a secretary, call her in all the time for menial tasks.
Moreso if she's hot.

Dude don't even dare doubt about being principal for a day. That's every high school kid's dream :p. One piece of advice though, don't abuse your power to get classmates or schoolmates in trouble, they won't like it and it could cost you friends ;).

I remember one time in 7th grade I had to step in for my computer class teacher, which had a funeral to go to or something. I tell ya, since that day I've decided to give up any thoughts about being a teacher. :p

When I taught remedial science for GCSE students they cowered beneath my iron fist of a rule. I found the power somewhat narcotic...

When I taught Y7's for a day they all ganged up on me.

That was most embarrassing.
