Old but very interesting OWI guided tour video
This was filmed inside OWI right after they finished Munch's Oddysee:
http://oddworldlibrary.net/archives/...MO-OWItour.gif http://oddworldlibrary.net/archives/...O-OWItour.divx It contains a few very interesting things and even stuff not seen anywhere else, as the Name That Trauma show and a perfect illustration of what Skeeters where meant to be. There is also footage from their "next game" that obviously isn't Stranger's Wrath, so that's still a mystery to me. Anyway have fun guys, I really, really hope you will like it I recorded it on tape years ago and now I finally found some time to put it up for everyone else to see. (Some people can get excited and try to guess what's coming up next) |
Whoaa, there are many things I didn't see before, like Sam's sculpture, the 3D figures and other stuff...
Thanks for sharing, Xavier! If you have any other interviews or videos like this, please post them. We would love to see it :D |
Ahhhhh! The JimTV one! This is the one that has the Slig Tank, submarine‐thingy, and the horde of angry Mudokons doesn’t it? Well, I suppose I’d better get downloading and find out. Top stuff, Xavman!
|
But isn't it an audio file? I opened it and Media Player didn't work. I downloaded it and I opened it. I didn't see anything and I couldn't only listen something. Is it a bug of my PC or is it a bug of the file? Or maybe an error of the link?
|
Well the file works fine for me and apparently friendly slig...
Try to download a divx player or a divx codec for your windows media player Trust me I've got another divx coming up you don't want to miss |
Sincerely, I wasn't using my PC but an old PC at school. When I will be home I will try to download it and open it with GOM Player. I think it wll work fine because I have a good codec. I was just wondering if it was a global bug.
|
It plays fine for me. I mean, it crashed Windows, but apart from that it played in Media Player Classic flawlessly with all the video and audio intact. Thanks again, Xavier, for uploading this video.
To my mind, this is one of the classic Oddworld media pieces. It’s up there with the Exoddus Club’s interview with Lorne, the old INsOMNIOUS official site, and wherever it was that first identified Nod as the fourth hero of the Quintology in terms of unique hints and glimpses of Oddworld that we’d otherwise be that much more unfamiliar with. Some personal highlights include confirmation that the singular of ‘Vykkers’ is ‘Vykkers’, a colour image of the Name That Trauma set, the brief mention of Sask, Lorne’s enactment of a character captured by a Skeeter, and seeing several of the Oddworld Inhabitants in the old SLO OWI Studio. One question: what are those things to the left of the Skeeter? With no different labels above them, I presume they are closeups of the Skeeter in ‘unfed’ and ‘full up’ modes. :p |
Wow, thanks heaps!
Always wanted to go into the OWI headquarters. Nevermind, installed, DivX, it works, thanks! |
Thanks alot Xavier! :D
I'm watching it right now. I ♥ Lorne! -laughes- He sounds funny around 4:00 when he's talking about the Skeeters! |
Cool, thanks for sharing that Xav, it provided a good insight into how OWI work.
The glimpses of the new game really blew me away; armies of angry mudokans - that would be cool, finally the little guys fight back. |
I'd like to point out that "the new game" is probably Munch's Exoddus...
And it was cancelled because Munch's Oddysee wasn't a very big success so they detached themselves a bit from the Munch character and tried something totally different:Stranger's Wrath All of that footage will probably never see the light of day... |
Wow. So many Mudokons! I wish that game could have hit shelves (Obviously not instead of Strangers Wrath, but as well as.) Imagine all of them following Abe. Would really give meaning to "Abe's Marching Mudokons". Just think of the havoc you could wreak by saying "Kick some Booty!"
Thanks Xavier. Never really been on the Oddworld Cinema before, but it's now listed in my favourites (And I have barely anything in my favourites... Only things that really make an impression on me.) |
It works fine for me in WMP.
|
That's awesome, I hadn't heard of the skeeters before. I think anyway, I'm plagued with Oddworld deja vu. I wonder if they're sanguivores, or brain-drainers. Maybe they drink your resistance to corporate might for sustenance...
Sask, though, he interests me. |
The Skeeterz were the dragonfly things I was mentioning earlier, I knew I had seen/ heard about it before, on some fan site.
Damn shame it was cancelled, looked like a mothership, Oddworld realy deserves better, but for now, I guess we'll have mushroom eating plumbers and electric mice filling our screens. |
Wait if this was done after they had finished Munch's Oddysee then one Lorne showed the millions of Mudokons running they can't be in Stranger's Wrath...so maybe. :D
All those Muds are for the Abe's Oddysee movie?! |
I think I better bet would be the cancelled Munch's Exoddus...
I'm not sure I can say cancelled since it was never actually announced |
Well they were evidently working on it, but the ideas they came up with for it are probably still there, waiting to be used. I like the term ‘shelved’. It implies they stopped working on it, but not that they completely forgot about it.

Dude, awesome! Thank you so much for sharing. :)
|
I watched it. It's brilliant. In OWI's studio there all the production arts and Lorne told a lot of useful informations! And music is cool :D!!!
|
Wow, one thing I perticulally love about games is the shere amount of Concept art that goes into it, and Oddworld has some of the most impressive pre-production word I've ever seen!!!
Thanks very much for sharing this with us Xavier, forever grateful! |
Great video!! I have been looking for this for ages!!
So, here is another interesting article..you should read it http://www.cgw.com/ME2/dirmod.asp?si...2EF4958BFC4FBC |
