In Odd we Trust.
I found online a book: "In Odd we Trust". I know on the one Moolah money there is that phrase. What is the connection? I post an image of one Moolah. http://oddworldlibrary.net/archives/...=RAAE0051.jpg2

The phrase is a reference to what is written on the current USA one dollar bill "In God we trust". The book is merely a coincidence; making much the same joke.
Meanwhile, this should be in OD. |
Ah, thank you, now I know why that phrase. So, that is a sort of comparison with reality :D!!! I didn't know what's on one dollar bill of USA.
|
It is one of several instances in which common or colloquial uses of the word "God" in Oddworld is replaced by the astonishingly convenient and phonetically compliant word "Odd". This has since been adopted by many fans of Oddworld, certainly in OWF discourse, and perhaps elsewhere also.

never doubt that the ego manic Glukkons would pass a chance to stamp their ugly faces onto money. Now who does that remind you of?
|
Well, If I can take this seriously, what's the reason for a modern figure being on the coin, and don't tell me it's Dripkiks great great great uncle, I mean, you'd assume they'd have ancaint brilliant leaders to stick on their coins right?
Or are the OW games set at the beginning of all of this coin buissness? Isn't it set in their Industrial revoluation? |
It's not that surprising; the Glukkons are intensely egotistical with not much regard for their history. More than anything, they would probably want to forget their past and the Age of Alchemy*. Probably that Gluk was some powerful individual who managed to connive his handsome face onto the currency.
*Before you ask, do a search on the forums and look on TOL. |

Yes but I was assuming it was done like the old presidents and explorers shown on many notes and coins, but you have a point, but then again, Aslik isn't that powerful? All do all major Gluckons feature on the coins? I would of thought it would just have been Maggie.
Oh, and is Mollah universal? I was told that Glockuns and sligs weren't major speacies, so why would they feature on coins on a currency that is used by what seems to be at least Mudos. Sorry, I'm looking too into this, couldn't help it. |
an interesting note is that this very coin was found in the Slig Barraks. That's what was posted on OW.com when they first released this picture
|
And who found it? Where is it posted in oddworld.com? I really want to read that page. And anyway there is another coin with: "Oddworld Abe's exoddus" on it. I asked to OWI something about it and (I think Matt Lee) answered me that it is another value.

The page with that info is no longer accessible (I can’t get to it, anyway; maybe somene else could have better luck). It was always password protected, but the username and/or password won’t work on it now.

Alcar... |
I might have it saved somewhere on a cd or hard drive... but I have no idea where right now. Sorry guys, it might resurface later.
|
Ok, I've never played AE so I'm somewhere in the dark.
Maybe the gluckon's mollah looks different to other speacies moolah, like the euro, and is still worth the same, that would explain why one of the, well, non most important gluckons features on their coins, the real world explaination is that I don't think many of the industrial speacies that have been thought of now were thought of then, apart from the vykers. |
Maybe the second coin with "Oddworld Abe's Exoddus" is just for fans or wallpapers (:fuzconf:) and that with "In Odd we Trust" is the official coin discovered in Slig Barracks?
|
Abe is now!, I believe you are right. The words ‘Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus’ would make no sense within the Oddworld universe.
