Oddworld: Chum's Oddysee (Fangame) (Working Title)
 

I'm currently working on my very first computer game using the program "Game-Maker". This one will be an Oddworld fan-game, entitled "Chum's Oddysee". The game tells the
story of a Slig named Chum and how he plans to assist the Mudokons one day. Chum's
main goal in the game is to shut down the newly opened "MudPie" factory that he is
currently forced to work at. "MudPie" Industries, run by the Glukkons, intends to
use Mudokon hearts and lungs to create a new type of pie called Mud-Pie. Chum
actually has feelings, unlike the other Sligs. He wants to destory his work-place
so he can of course free himself, and the rest of Mudokons from having to be
slaughtered to make the pies.

Like I said, this is my first ever game using the Game-Maker 7. I don't think
it'll be epic like the actual games, but just a fun 2-D romp. Here is a screen
of one of the early screens in the game,

Cool although you should give credit to the one who made those sprites. Yes I know a member here made them but their name slips my mind. Keep up the work but remember credit to helpers. I request a long list of the members who made comments.

I do give credits, in the game info. I'll credit everyone here who makes comments. I'm not a sprite stealer!

I might not be working on it for a while, I'm a little busy and getting aggravated with all the coding lately. But I'll try and at least FINISH it. It's about 20 Percent complete right now I guess..

It was Arxryl! Who could forget that there's an x in it?!

Ganna screw you over if you take my advise but my advise is that you either try to make sprites that look more like the backdrops you're using or you use backdrops that look more like Arxryl's sprites.

I could. 20 % is a reasonable length.

Well I think it seems quite happy because it's eye has a flower in the middle. And I'd like to ask if there has been any recent progress in the game yet?

Hey, this looks good. But may I ask one question; where did you get the backdrops from?

All I had to do was copy and paste them with the print screen function.

Oh and to the guy who wanted to know if recent progress has been made: I haven't gotten any yet. I'm having a frustrating school year, and I need to get going on Mathmetics. I want to get my lowish C up to at least a higher C or even possibly
a B. I'm not sure if I'll get to work on it in quite a while. Maybe on weekends if
I feel like doing so.

Oh and to Carnix: I couldn't see the X in Arxryl,sorry. My eyes have been sucking. But I guess that does as much worth as "My dog ate my homework". :P

That could be a very valid excuse. I have a friend whose dog ate his homework. It was last year but i still find it funny to bring it up.

I hope you'll show us new screenshots. I enjoy those screenshots you posted before. Are you still working now?
