Benefits; Fair or corrupt?
My point...are they fair or not? :fuzconf: I think they are...to an extent. I just loathe it when the stupid poor people stay on them for years! Of course, its the people who work who get taxed to hell, then their money, which they actually worked hard for, gets giving to those lazy bastards who dont even do anything for it! Well, I mean its all right if you go on a benefit for a few months, but for years??? My own bloody grandma has been on a benefit for the pretty much the last 50 years friggin' years or so, and all she does with it is buy pot and cigerettes for gods sake...So, what do you think of benefits? Should we keep on forking out for people who never work? Give them food tokens instead to stop them from spending it on dope?

Stupid poor people.

People living of benefits for more then a year without any good reason should be thrown infront of a train... or have their benefits cut.
Here in Holland they are actually working on a law thats says that if you are without work for more then a year you have to do work which is 'below' what you could be doing. Basically what they say is: If you can't find work within a year you're not looking hard enough, say buhbye to your benefits. And thats damn right how it should be. |
Are half of you even old enough to pay your own taxes?
|
Old enough, just not employed or not‐a‐student enough. I’m applying for jobseeker’s allowance.

It's not that I don't want to know.
It's that I don't care. |
Certainly there needs to be some reform in this area but to just dismiss the crushing despair of a man or woman who is out of work as "stupid poor people" is....well......stupid.
|
There is such a thing as being without work between jobs. This is not a problem.
There is such a thing as being unable to work for whatever reason. This is not a problem. There is such a think as dumb shits being to lazy to work and receiving benefits non the less. This is a problem, which I would personally resolve by the use of a double barreled shotgun. |
That's your cure for everything.
|
by 'stupid poor people' I meant the poor people who are too stupid and lazy to bother even trying to find a job, perfering to just sit around home, living off other peoples money, just to clear that bit up aye

Unfortunately the catch-22 "you need job experience to get a job" applies to those that have been out of work for some time.
It's one giant grey area. There certainly are those that milk the system, but hell, so did I while I collected disability after a recent surgery. Not because I felt that I wasn't ready to go back to work, but because I've been busting my hump since I was sixteen and to that day I'd never taken a paid vacation. So I did. And the state paid for it. |
Heck I'd do that too. State receives plenty of money so if you can take some of it back moderately you should, however that does not include sitting on your ass for 5 years doing nothing.

As soon as I read the thread title I knew Havoc would be all over this like a pig in shit spouting familiar boring drivel.
As it happens, here in ENGLAND the benefits do need a re-think, at the moment we have a system whereby a great deal of people are more well off out of work than in it. Of course they're gonna doss about and loiter, that's what I'd do if I could stomach the idea of claiming for it. But I'll never be dole scum! The Tories were proposing a policy where married couples would get tax breaks, in an attempt to fix our 'broken society' and get more people into thoughtless relationships for monetary gain, I guess. I spat my tea across the telly screen, fucking morons. |
