Demo ddcheats
 

I was just hex editing the demo versions of the game

On the normal exoddus it is -DDcheat, on demo it is -cheat

it_is_me_your_father works on oddysee demo as well as the original :D

just incase you didn't know, and want to know what it's like with ddcheat without taking up so much space on lvl files. :fuzvamp:

Nice finds, PS. I can’t find any surprises noclipping the AO demo. I wish we could noclip the PlayStation versions. The PS (no relation?) AO demo is pretty primitive, and we’ve already found some weird stuff in it by glitches, now we need solid proof!

I dont think there is a it is me your father, but i do know with elum and Slig, you can morph yourself into many walls, its quite useful :D

And where can I find your edited demo? I really want to try the cheat in it because I haven't AE for PC.

Just do exactly the same as you do with the original, just make a shortcut to the exe file, and add ,, -cheat, instead of ddcheat, as for oddysee, just do EXACTLY the same as the actual game.

Excuse me but I don't understand you: can you make a screen of the steps that I have to do? Thank you.

Okay.. lets go step by step..



Right click on your desktop...




Click New Then click Shortcut



Find the Oddworld program


On the end of the line, add ,, -cheat

Click next until you are finished...


then open the shortcut you just made on your desktop


Press tab and away you go.

There is hidden stuff in the ps version? I remeber seeing an "elum cakes" poster or somthing like that.. can't remeber if it was in the pc version.

The Elum Chubs poster is still in the PC and final PS versions of the game, but the part of the screen is so dark that you can’t make it out. It’s only visible in the PS demo, along with things like hidden backgrounds and forgotten areas.

Dosen't work for me on the Abe's Oddysee Demo... and besides iv allready found the only secrets on the AO Demo for the PSX...

hmm has anyone looked in the psx exe's to check for this kinda stuff? I dont think it would be a command line since you can't really do that on the psx (unless you have a debug unit)
look for stuff like the "vox" string that comes up, or "brain state" / "brainstate" (thats in the pc version but I don't know how to get it to show up, and only seems to be for slogs
if anyone has IDA pro im sure theres a way to list the strings in the file

Have you actually looked or tried to search function? I'm fairly sure there was a fairly large discussion on this. Can't be that hard to miss.

Yes, but I don't need a DISCUSSION, only some numbers for show me the cheat.

Which would be located at the beginning of said discussion...

The -it_is_me_your_father line works in exactly the same way as the -ddcheat line, except you have to hold shift while the game starts, until you reach the main menu.

Fair enough. I didn’t realize you could release it so early. I don’t have those opening videos anyway, and I often start with the level selection cheat, cutting the number of times I have to depress the shift key by half. ;)
