Yup. Starting in December, you will be able to download Xbox games to your 360. The games with the launch of the service include Fable, Halo, Crimson Skies, and Psychonauts. So for people without hard copies of the games, sounds pretty good. Im bound to pick up Fable and Psychonauts, and Ninja Gaiden if they put it up. That 120 HDD isn't seeming so ridiculous now..... |
Awesome. Shame i don't have a 360
Yeah ditto what Hobo said, luckly, I might be getting one.
Very good feature, IMHO.
I bet that takes ages. Too bad mine has only 20GB. And is a hundred miles away.
I got 50$ on Sony copying this feature within the month.
Unless they already have it, which I think they do. |
they do?
hmm i think microsoft are just copying steam |
I dont know much at all about steam, but with the help of modchips on the origonal xbox, you could copy xbox games to your harddrive if you had the cd. It's not like its a new idea or anything.
Sony mentioned being able to download games a lot time ago (not PS1 games, PS3 games..) but considering a blue-ray disc and hold 50gig that seems a bit much..
But yeah, I bet its going to be some steam rip off. |
Don't see how it is exactly a Steam rip off. Seeing as downloading stuff has been around longer than Steam.
:
Total rip off of the Phantom.
Total rip off of the internet.
I still like to buy my Xbox games with cover and everything, it's annoying to have all your games only stored on HDD.
^That is the twoof. He only speaks da twoof!
But I've yet to find a copy of Whiplash on xbox anywhere, no 2nd hand copies or in cheapbins. So if it gets put up for download I'll get it, because that game was hilarious. |
Downloadable game should come with cover and CD art that you can print out and use if you so wish for proper boxes, like some digitally distributed albums do.
Yea that would be cool. Though then you'd get at least someone who's gonna complain about making it easier to pirate and shit.
The only download store that I like is Steam. With things like Microsoft and EA you have to go through a shitload of forms, categories, more forms, mails, password retrieval things, account retrieval, serial number boxes and more forms to reinstall something you once downloaded from their service. With steam, you buy the game, it's registered to your steam account and you can download it with the push of a button anywhere you like. And it auto updates all your games at once when Steam updates are released which is mega ownage. |

I think more people do that for downloaded dvds, or at least I've known my brother to. |
