Played Super Mario Galaxy.
So, your local Gamestop should have a Wii Kiosk, with Super Mario Galaxy. Not the demo, the actual game.I got about an hour in at a Gamestop today.
My play in one word? Disappointment. Don't get me wrong, it is a fun game. It is better than Sunshine, but I don't think it is better than Super Mario 64. The controls are simple, and once you get used to them, it becomes second nature. The graphics are great, but I think SSBB looks better, it might have been Gamestop's TV though. The star system is cool, but I had a hard time aiming it and moving Mario at the same time, so I really just spun the enemies. Now as for the scheme of having most of the levels little planets, I think it is a bad idea. It has its charms, but with the camera changing, you'll find yourself falling into the blackhole alot. I know with the shifting gravity in some areas, it can get confusing as well. The main way to attack enemies is probably the spin, since jumping isn't very accurate, and it was hard for me to shoot the stars and control Mario at the same time. As far as platformers go, it is probably the best so far for Wii, PS3, or 360, and even some good platformers of last gen. Haven't played the new R&C, so I cant compare the two. As I said, it is better than Sunshine in all areas, but Super Mario 64 still reigns supreme over this, IMO. It is a candidate for GOTY. Again, i only got about an hour in. So discuss! |
Man, you're so lucky. All they have in my local game stores is an Xbox 360 that you can't play games on. Me and my friend spent like 5 minutes trying to find out how you could.
I was never a massive fan of Super Mario Sunshine, nor I particularly liked Super Mario 64. The gameplay of Galaxy puts me off slightly. Of course I'll never know until I've tried it. I'm just hoping the story will be interesting. |
*drools*
you lucky bugger :) i wish i could play it. Just to see if it is any good because it'll be the first Mario platformer i would of ever played |
Lucky. :P If the controls are ok, i can do it, so i like it already! :D
You don't use the motion controls as much as you probably think. Mainly just to use the spin attack, since shooting stars is just about useless. Also, it a good platformer Laser, try to get SM64 though!
Hm..I see what you mean then, the controls must be quite simple. Maybe the game might not be all it cracked up to be after-all.
They are really simple. And its nothing revolutionary like Nintendo has been saying.
The game is awesome. It kicks ass and so do I for owning it.
So meh to all of you. |
U R MR GAY
I certainly am.
I've been playing it at work for a couple of weeks, and I like it a lot.
I'm almost done with the first playthrough. Of course I will have to play it as Luigi after that.
I wish luigi still had the fluttery-leg-spasming jump that he was so famous for in the second mario game.
:
Leg spasming=lulz. |
Played it at Friends' house, beat it at said house
still gonna get it. Replay value is through the roof. |
Great fun, especially with all the weirdo level designs, Ne?
Fuck you and your 'Ne?'.
:
Ten English Characters |
*sigh*
You're all a bunch of fucking OANSTs. *stops* |
Thank you?
Yeah, I don't know if that was supposed to be insulting, but frankly, I feel pretty good about it.
While I agree with DI, I must say: On Topic folks
I finally finished it. 121 stars with Mario. 121 stars with Luigi. I had a lot of fun with it.
