What is bad food?

I don't think bad food has much to do with the taste. I think it's more to do with how good it is for you and how easy it is to get in your mouth and eat.

Marvak 09-16-2007 11:22 PM

If you can't enjoy it while you're eating it, it's bad. I don't care if it's got freaking vitamin B12 and Omega 3 and antioxidants, I'm not touching that damn pickle.

Zozo the Zrilufet 09-16-2007 11:22 PM

I suppose theres a lot of definitions of bad food....I don't know, I suppose junk food that tastes bad has no point.

mudling 09-16-2007 11:30 PM

I chose all, purley because it is a conbination of all of these things, yet any of them on their own makes bad food.
Good food is an artform, but sadly, I think there is no food that looks good, tastes good, smells good, feels good, is cheap, healthy, illness free and is easy to eat, but then again, nothing is perfect.

Patrick Vykkers 09-17-2007 02:08 AM

Bad food is liquid food.

Hobo 09-17-2007 02:09 AM

What the hell are you on about.

They all make bad food.

mudling 09-17-2007 02:18 AM

umm? I'm not sure if you're joking or if I misworded my sentenced.
someone give me a hint, lol.

Mistress of Oddworld 09-17-2007 02:22 AM

I think bad food is something that not only tastes bad, but just by tasting it, you KNOW it's going to make you sick, like meat that's off. I don't think junk food or unhealthy food is bad, just anything that'll make you puke ten minutes after consumption. But if it tastes good, it's worth it. ;) :p

Alex2405 09-17-2007 03:40 AM

It's surely the one that makes you ill!

Spirrow 09-17-2007 03:50 AM

Oh, man, I was recently going to make a thread called 'Your Opinions on Plastic Food'.
Regarding food, we in my family have used the crafty word "Plastic" to descibe food (meat) which is jammed up with growth hormones, carbon monoxide, water and preservatives to the point where they don't even taste like food, but also bear a possible health hazard.

One example is how they use carbon monoxide to make bad meat keep it's natural fresh pink or red juicy color while it really may be bad for days or longer. Note: Bad meat usually turn a darker color.

Mac Sirloin 09-17-2007 03:57 AM

Anything fecal.

Bullet Magnet 09-17-2007 07:31 AM

"Food that makes you ill" certainly seems to be up there in the "bad food" description for me, never mind taste or nutritional value.

Laser 09-17-2007 07:51 AM

food which costs too much and food which makes you ill is pretty much the most obvious for me

Chubfish 09-17-2007 07:53 AM

Food that makes you ill is very bad food. Or food that tastes bad.

Laser 09-17-2007 08:10 AM

well food which tastes bad is a matter of opion
i mean i loath fish with passion which can only be scaled on the richter scale but fish is one of the most healthy things you can eat (even when it is battered)

also food which looks bad is a matter of how much you care about what it looks like.
I mean i remeber an experiment where a 10 year old,5 year old and a 1 year old were given disgusting food:
the 10 year old was given a apple with a live worm in it and didn't it at all
The 5 year old was given a glass of apple juice with a dead cockroach in it and drunk the apple juice but didn't eat the cockroach
the 1 year old had some dog turd and ate it with out being asked
note:Before you run for the nspcc the dog turd was chocolate.

Bullet Magnet 09-17-2007 03:23 PM

Wait a minute- this is a topic?

skillya_glowi 09-17-2007 05:40 PM

Yes.

Bad food is food that gives you food poisoning and/or tastes bad. Other than that I can't think of anything.
At this point in time I couldn't care less how good it is for me personally, I'm not eating those rice cakes and spinach, because I don't want to taste a combination of cardboard and raw grass.
And if it's too big to get inside your mouth...there's this thing called a knife...

I meant when the food won't stay on the knife/fork/spoon long enough to get in your mouth or when the food won't get on your knife/fork/spoon in the first place. Not when it's too big.

Marvak 09-18-2007 12:01 AM

Like overcooked spaghetti with too much sauce?
My mum has a gift for making that.

Wil 09-18-2007 01:33 AM

Meat, dairy, eggs, honey, cochineal, gelatin, and shellac are all evil foods.

Bullet Magnet 09-18-2007 03:33 AM

All my favourites. Especially the beetles and dessicated bee vomit (though I prefer the former pre-processed).

skillya_glowi 09-18-2007 07:04 PM

I'm an evil food-eater then

Spirrow 09-19-2007 03:31 PM

I was going to write this yesterday, but got bumped off the computer:

*If it's slimy spaghetti-use a spoon.
*If the spaghetti noodles are to long, cut 'em up with the edge your spoon or fork.
*If you eat alone with noone next to you to be disgusted, sip excess fluids away.

Doesn't help you much, does it?

Hobo 09-22-2007 06:36 AM

So is this thread now - what don't you like about food?

Zerox 09-22-2007 01:18 PM

McDonalds.

All there is to this question.

Flamefox 09-22-2007 03:27 PM

hmm, food that makes me sick is bad. Had a tin of beetroot a few years back and got the mad poisoning from them.

skillyaslig 09-22-2007 06:06 PM

oh, yuck, yeah that happened to me when I ate a old cartoon of yogurt. Threw up all over the show

OANST 09-23-2007 01:54 PM

Did it bounce around the room and then pull on your nose?

toxicity 09-23-2007 05:28 PM

Definetly food that makes you ill. I wouldn't say that Mcdonald's tastes bad, but last time I ate food from a McDonald's I felt ill.
