10 Year Anniversery for US release, what about other countries?
September 17th, 1997. I'll never forget that day. I had played the Demo of Abe's Oddysee for many countless hours and had clipped out every advertisement i saw for it in EGM. It is nearly September 17th, 2007 and i was just wonder what day Oddworld first released in other countries? Does anybody remember launch day?
I was in highschool at the time, and i kept taking "bathroom breaks" to go use the pay phone to call Funcoland. I must have called them 8 times that day until they finally said "Yes, kid, it just came in." September 17th also happened to be my best friend's birthday and he was having a party that night, so i was a little frustrated that i wouldn't be able to play Oddworld the whole night. Goldeneye had just released a few weeks earlier, though, so i knew that the "party" would just be constant Goldeneye action all night, so i brought my own TV and played Oddworld next to the TV with the 4 player Goldeneye action. Whenever i reached a cutscene they would all put their controllers down and just gawk at my screen. Ah......10 years ago. |

Still makes me wonder if OWI is going to launch the movie website on September 17. |

I didn't play AO when it first came out in Belgium, I only discovered it later and I have no clue of it's release date over here. |
