p.s. Problem solved with ease by downloading MSVCR70.dll. :p Now I would just like to know how I can use this in conjunction with the noclip cheat for Abe’s Oddysee, because holding shift doesn’t work. Also, why does it change my keyboard layout to Dvorak? It took me a while to work out why Abe was refusing to throw his grenades. :p

holding shift dosent work? you have to hold down shift and then press enter on the shortcut, i.e you must be holding shift as/before the game loads

Doesn’t work. If I make a Dx Windowed shortcut to the AO shortcut, Dx Windowed just takes it to be the AO programme and ignores the -it_is_me_your_father malarkey. If I add -it_is_me_your_father to the Dx Windowed shortcut, it refuses to work because obviously the target is Dx Windowed itself. If I go into Dx Windowed and open AO through that, holding shift while selecting the AO programme opens the programme, but keeps it minimized, where it obviously can’t detect that I’m holding the shift button.

ahh I see what you're doing now, open DXWnd first, then you can open AO anytime later and it will run in a window, thus you can add the -its_me_whatever and use shift to open it

can anyone help me as i cannot get it to work it just says it cannot open the file.

okay iv downloaded this dxwnd thing and click on it and it say it cannot open the file.can anyone tell how to open or what to open it with?

What’s the exact message it gives you?

it says:
windows cannot open this file:
file:dxwnd.rar
to open this file,windows needs to know what program created it.windows can go online to look it up autimatically,or you can manually select from a list of progams on your pc.
then theres a choice:
use the web service to find the approproate program
or select the program from a list.
