A stickied 'You favourite OW game' thread.
Ever since Oddworld Forum was created, people have created threads asking the members of OWF about their favourite Oddworld game. These topics are created fairly often, fade away, then get re-created, so I suggest we (as in someone else, not me) create a definitive (stickied) "Your favourite OW game" thread and cease the creation of these threads. A definitive thread has many benefits, person X only has to vote once, and their opinion will last forever (or until OWF dies), this is far better than voting multiple times in numerous threads. The logic is obvious, we should do this, in fact, why haven't we done this already?

Good idea.
Let's wait a while or so until the current thread fade and then post an overall thread, called: "Your Favorite Thing About Oddworld". There, they can decide which game they, like, which creature or character they would want to be and generally discuss all things Oddworld in it. But I'm sure your idea probably has downsides, too. My question is whether we should make an OWF Question and Answer, so that way people stop making thread about why they can't post their sig, or about their post count? |
what, just have all the answers to any askable question on one thread?

Because we already have a crappy uninspired FAQ that never got us anywhere.

Nice idea, Salamander. It’s something I’ve been thinking about recently, but there are similar topics that keep cropping up. ‘What’s your favourite creature?’ is the other popular one, as is ‘What’s your favourite level?’ to a lesser degree and various others. You can’t mix these polls together, and I’m not going to have a separate stickied thread for each.
I have my own idea of what to do, but I’m interested in hearing what everyone else thinks would work. I’ve already asked this, but no one got back to me. :( |

Yeah, this is my point. Both of these questions are commonly recurring, but I’m not having BOTH stickied. OD has enough stickies as it is. Ideally there would be a single thread for multiple of these F.P.P.s (Frequently Posted Polls), but I don’t believe it’s possible to add multiple polls to a thread. If it is, problem instantly solved.

Multiple polls per threads is not possible at the current time unfortunately. However, the vBulletin team has promised that polls will be overhauled at some time in the future, as they are pitifully under-developed at the moment. Alcar... |
Mah. I don't care enough about this issue to want these thread stickyfied. If new ones crop up too often we'll delete them but otherwise we'll either revive old ones or allow people to express opinions again - after all they may have changed their minds in the intervening period.
