Abe's oddysee shut off power?
What does shutting off the power actually help you will in abe's oddysee?, does it just play a cutscene or does it do something more when you move on to the boardroom?
|
I think all it does is play the cutscene...I think it may open the door on the screen to the right after that, but I'm not sure.
It is odd how the cutscene is repeated. You'd think it would only happen once. I mean, how do you shut off power...after you already shut it off... |

Then i passed it doing it No difference |
I've also wondered what that does. Apparently nothing except, as Zerox said, playing the cutscene.
After you've seen it, however, it's just a waste of time gameplay-wise. |

I think its a level bug, I think you're only supposed to beable to view it once ( you can watch it again and again ) and its supposed to open a locked door to move on the the board room ( the door is never locked )
|
I'm fairly sure that, in my game anyway, it unlocked the door.
|
hmm I've completed both psx and pc version I im sure the door was always unlocked? It was a while ago, maybe it disabled an elecwall? hmm
|
I havn't got a clue-it's so long since i played.
|
I just checked both my PC and PlayStation copies, and the door is unlocked whether or not you press the power shutdown button.
|
Then it's just a random cinematic?

Yep, guys. :P Gameplay wise, the switch doesn't actaully do anything.
I've played AO too many damned times, so I often just use the slig to flick both levers in the level and quickley exit the level toward the boardroom at the other end. I simply run past the switch to the next screen before the slig appears near it. Call it a shortcut, if you will. Works in the PSX version too. - DH |
^ But you can't kill the Mudokon if you do it that way. :P(Yes, you can kill him and it counts towards casualties, despite that he does nothing but give you a power ring)
