Is it hypocritical for libertarians to enjoy OW?

Given that libertarian politics would tend to take the side of the Industrialists in all issues but slavery, killing of workers, and to some religious libertarians, the worship money would outright offend them.

Anyone else read it as "librarians?"

Wil 08-02-2007 03:26 AM

Yes, right here. I’m afraid I don’t know what a libertarian really is, but you don’t have to agree with a subtext to appreciate its use in a story.

Slaveless 08-02-2007 05:39 AM

I'm not exactly sure what a libertarian is suppose to be, but I'm not sure why it would be hypocritical for someone to enjoy a fictional piece of work that doesn't necessarily follow their beliefs. That's like saying that Christians shouldn't read Harry Potter or The Da Vinci Code because of its theme or idea. It's a story, you have to remember that. So no, it's not hypocritical.

Allow me to direct you attention here:http://mw1.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/libertarian

So basically, it is to remove one's free rights and kill and torture them and like PV said above, to enslave them. So I'm not sure about whether they'd enjoy it or not.

The poll results make me happy

Nope, libertarianism is based on the Wiccan principle of "Do as thou will, as long as it harm none". Slavery and coercion are the highest sins in libertarianism. Libertarianism, however, is highly capitalist and anti environment. It would also not object to the use of native bones in products.

Spirrow 08-02-2007 01:21 PM

LOL, PV, your problem with religion amuses me.

Why do you even bother bringing up these thread when we don't know what you're even talking about?

Wil 08-02-2007 01:33 PM

So we can learn? I feel slightly more knowledgable.

looney-bin 08-02-2007 01:47 PM

Was the 4th option edited in by a mod? Anyway, I voted that.

Exactly! We need more junkies like this guy around. Welcome to the crowd, Patrick Vykkers.

I admit I was against this thread before Maxy's response. Shame on my sad little blunder.

Back On-Topic.

Nope, I added it both for purposes of gauging dislike towards me and to provide an option for trolls.

I don't think it is hypocritical. I mean, it is only a video game story...

It has no less worthyness for being a video game story rather than a, say, movie one.

Laser 08-23-2007 12:43 AM

well based on what i have read about these librarians i'd say yes but i voted for the 4th one anyway
