Exoddus/Oddysse more than 640x480?
 
one my friend has done this

it's the abe's oddysee pc exe that start with a resolution of 1920x1080 (hdtv res but he can set any other resolution!)
the resolution work correctly, but the game looks like centered with black boarders.. :(
my friend used winhex for do this
there is a way to fix this problem, or there are other ways for add a better resolution to these 2 masterpieces?

The background images and sprites have been rendered at 640X480 and nothing you can do can improve that quality.

However, if you just want to stretch the image to the full size of the monitor, you'd have to fiddle around with the monitor settings.

yeah there isnt much point in streching the image, its just gonna look really pixalted, however hacking the code to add some sort of 2xsi filter or whatever its called would be kewl ;)

omg with those filters the graphic would be beautiful! anyone can check if is possible?

its possible but im not going to try, since I want to make my own game engine that can run AO..

I mean its possible to hack the exe to make it use the filters on the final directdraw output.. but I wont be trying to do that..

yeah, if I ever get that done, depending on a few things in the next few weeks.. then it would pretty much just be a replacement exe file, but with a few added things such as the filtering

you can't make the game use openGL, it uses direct draw 7
