What type of comedy do you like?

For me its a toss up between Black or dark comedy and Satire
what about you?

Mutual Friend 07-31-2007 11:58 AM

My DVD Aficionado page is telling me I have a heavy bias towards dark comedy.

Laser 07-31-2007 12:04 PM

I do like Black Comedy :-)
One of my Favorite Comedy has got to be Blackadder

Hobo 07-31-2007 01:03 PM

British.

Silly.

Violent.

toxicity 07-31-2007 01:05 PM

Dethcomedy

Mutual Friend 07-31-2007 01:05 PM

Urgh, I hate Blackadder.

The formula goes a little something like this: say enough silly things in a sentence = award-winning hilarity!

Sorry, I'm just being meaner than the meanest thing from Mean Town, Meanania.

Zerox 07-31-2007 01:07 PM

Monty Python for teh win.

I'm glad you agree with me.

For actual suggestions of fantastic modern comedy (won't be anything from America then), Nighty Night is AMAZING, probably the best series ever produced. I haven't seen the second series/season, simply because the first was so perfectly formed that I'd hate to taint it. And I know the second wasn't so well-received, which isn't all that surprising given that the first took literally years to write and the second a few months.

skillya_glowi 07-31-2007 01:21 PM

Mmeh. I like good ole English humour. Nothing too obvious, or then it comes off as being incredibly tacky.

Marvak 07-31-2007 01:29 PM

If it's funny, I like it. I'm not fussed with the name of all the different comedies I like, so we'll just say 'Funny Humour'.

Havoc 07-31-2007 01:35 PM

I like Britsh humor and black death humor. And downright dry humor like the stuff in my sig.

Patrick Vykkers 07-31-2007 04:28 PM

Any comedy written by the creator of Four Hookers and Their Mom (credits to Brian Griffin) sounds like garbage. Then again, I loath my own country like a leftist because I like the US better.

Alf Shall Rise 07-31-2007 07:47 PM

Anything that makes me laugh. Usually comical humour.

Leto 07-31-2007 08:10 PM

Things that are awkard. Quite lolarious.

Explosm is so much fucking fail though.

Nate 08-01-2007 03:00 AM

I'm a big fan of absurdist humour. Shaun Micallef FTW.

6-finger-fred 08-01-2007 10:28 AM

Black Comedy and stoneface. I have a rather dry sense of humor, and people tend to take some of my jokes seriously. It's fun. Stupid humor cracks me up as well..

Munch's Master 08-01-2007 12:05 PM

Tough, but British humour/sketch show is probably my favourite. Python, Blackadder, Harry Enfield, Father Ted, Little Britain, Fawlty Towers etc.
Some dark humour too.

Gabiar 08-02-2007 06:05 AM

The o'l BBC comedy, tee hee.

'Allo 'Allo, ze best!

Haha, nice clip.

Arxryl 08-02-2007 08:06 PM

Any comedy really... I haven't given much thought to what kind. Just anything I haven't seen already.

Although America's Funniest Home Videos (the new one, not the old one with the guy who thinks every word that comes out of his mouth should be hilarious) is always good for a watch.

used:) 08-02-2007 08:36 PM

Crude and absurdist.

Nate 08-02-2007 11:40 PM

Excuse the advertising and appreciate the adlibbing:

Patrick Vykkers 08-03-2007 02:10 AM

MY kind of comedy

Laser 08-03-2007 08:22 AM

Pat what exactly is funny about them?

Arxryl 08-03-2007 10:18 AM

Well, if you don't know what is funny about them, they aren't your kind of comedy.

Mac Sirloin 08-03-2007 06:29 PM

BOILAH!

Dethcomedy indeed.

Monty Python, but not as some mook who quotes them, just as one who can appreciate it for the subtleties and obvious stuff, too.
