This was on the front page of the paper yesterday,looks like " Da Man" is getting ready to take another shot at the video community.

Not sure i agree with most of this, particularly the "public health risks associated with exposure." part, although the clown that played for 50 hrs. and then dropped dead may have been pushing the envelope a bit. :D

LOL 50 hrs with few breaks an i thort i was a gameaholic :P i dont agree that it is an addiction thing or an obsession . . . more like a very effective solution and cure for bourdom :) my xbox360 broke over a month ago and its still at the dam repair center, there takin there time about it :( an i havent bin overly board i jus took up goin out more an reading fantacey/action books so what they are sayin here (A lot of people, especially in college, don't do anything but play video games, especially (the fantasy game) World of Warcraft. … They get obsessed) is a load of bullsh*t

I'm a game addict. Yes I freak out when my computer dies, yes I freak out when I don't have internet because I didn't pay the damn bill and yes when I say freak out I mean seriously freak out. Freak out as in... instant boredom and not knowing what to do... and realizing how lame your life is and freaking out over it.

why does everyone insist on reminding me how lame my life is! My previos 2 computers died of datacorruption (the complete incompatibilty to load) and very soon i am sure this one will do the same.

He's just trying to to warn you about pornographic sites. I think he's talking about his own experiences with those kinda sites. You know, some sites will install spam onto your computer, of wich some will corrupt your PC. Happened to me, I'm re-installing everything as I write this.

Yes. I'm a game addict, I ordered a game from Play.com and everyday I almost cried because it didn't come.

Same here, I clicked on this link and it took me to a porn site and asked me if I'd like to download a Spyware remover. Then it set the porn site to my homepage and gave me porn pop-ups when I wasn't even on the internet.

I'm not so much a VG junkie as a 'General Technology' junkie. Yes I go psyco if I don't get a daily hit of computer. It's like my morning coffee, in fact so much so that I've had a hard time coping when I have had to leave early for school without any computer-time.

Yes. I used to be a game junkie. But now I have a job and shtuffs, and I have less time for it. Though in the last month I bought and finished 2 games (Overlord and The Darkness), and I just pre-ordered Halo 3 as well. Now I'll be waiting for Bioshock, Halo 3, Fatal Inertia, The Orande Box and Mass Effect. And I might buy Ace Combat 6 as well. Just played the demo, it's pretty awesome looking. but I won't have much time to play it all though... I still am a moderate junkie...

Damn... They are treating Video Games like a desease. I admit there are some people out there who need to get a life, and not be so obsessed about video games, but C'mon!

It's not like everyone who plays video games is glued to them 24/7/12/365.

Although, one of their propositions seemed logical.

However some of the rest seemed like complete B*llsh*t.

So now I have a disorder for playing video games? WTF?!

Methinks that doctors/researchers are getting a litle too far into this... Or maybe they are doing things right, I just don't know it yet, or maybe video games don't have that effect on me or something....
but as for where I stand right now, these doctors are acting stupid.

For me, playing video games is more of a hobby. But... am I a junkie? I wouldn't say so.

Oh, god yes, I am a video game junkie.
I have an old game boy just to tide me over if I lose my other game systems.
