RPG Character/Celebrity voice matchup
Say that hypothetically one or more of the RPGs in our beloved OWF were made into flash series. Say that, somehow, the FSM had given you the power to choose any celebrity you liked to voice your character(s). Who would you like each character to be voiced by? And why?
My Picks; Praetyre (Normal): Liam Neeson. Why?: Praetyre is about 35 in Vykker terms, a middle aged middle class Inhabitant with a mid level job. He is moderately stately, casual yet collected, and Liam portrays these qualities well. Praetyre (Suited): Ross Douglas (Voice of Clockwerk in Sly Cooper) Why?: I imagine Praetyre's helmet as conveying a different sounding voice to his normal voice, and Ross portrays a cybernetic creature quite well, albeit evilly. Why?: Most Sligs have virtually the same voices. Lorne portrays them. Simple. Arrack (Singing): Elton John Why?: Effiminate singing raving ugly. These words describe them both. And his singing is in a similar style, not Elvis or Beatle, but not Fall Out Boy. Arrack (Psychotic): Richard Horvitz Why?: His babbling and delusional mania is almost identical to Zim's. Though at least he knows he's not regarded well by the authorities. Arrack (Whiny): Andy Serkis Why?: It burns us! It hurts us! Why does it hurts us! Domino: None Why?: He's an Intern. Duh. |
Bwahahaha! *hugs*
Cal: Steve Buscemi (Randall from Monsters Inc.) Why: Ok, call me childish if you want, but when I saw this movie, I fell in love with the cunning, sly character of Randall, which Steve portrays wonderfully. Also, both Randall and Cal seem to exude an aura that just screams "I hate you." Ricky: David Scully (Sergeant Johnson, Halo Combat Evolved) Why: Johnson is not only a man of (military) authority and a leader, but is very clearly someone who just loves his job :p Wic (yet to appear in RPG): Lorne Lanning Why: If Lorne could accurately portray a child mudokon (rather than an adult) then he'd be the perfect man for the job. This was fun. *gives another hug* Bye. |
OK, I'm going to try on this one.
Molt: Al Paccino. Why: The guy must do some pretty neat voice when dealing with an old, dying, and slightly evil characters. Gappiqu: James Callis Why: Call me silly, but the guy can portray an intelligent, yet highly emotional kind of character. His tone of voice can show that Gappiqu has gone through too much in life to bear. Slap: Any computer. Why: Anybody could do a hmph kind of sound. All you really need to worry about is how to make the typing sound. The Eight Mudokons: The guy who does Coach Z on Homestarrunner.com Why: The accent! Remember, the accent! Sam (specifically): Lorne Lanning Why: A mystic like voice is Lorne's specialty. I guess this is all I've got. T-Nex should really say about Kix's voice. I don't care about Bonty, Max is a Slog, and the lawyers are not really that important. |
Me others;
Vernel: Werner Klemperer/Sam Raimi Why?: He's heavily based on Klink, and has the voice of Klink with the personality of J. Jonah Jameson Banner: Dan Castellena Why?: Dumb, big and strong. Plus, Dan has already been in Oddworld and worked quite well. |
Xene- Marina Sirtis (voice of Demona from Gargoyles cartoon series)
Why: The voice, when applied right, sounds evil. For those of you who remember her, Xene had issues. It just fits. Aida- doesn't talk, so she doesn't need a voice actor, other than the occasional scream or wimper. Just about any female voice could do that. |
