Not to sure where to put this, but..
Here's an idea I recently had. List the D&D alignments of your OWF RPG characters. Be they dead or living, good or evil, powerful or weak, crazy or sane, Slig or Mudokon, Glukkon or Vykker, list em.
For those wondering about D&D alignments; (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alignme...eons_&_Dragons)) Analogies: Lawful Good: Batman, someone who has a strong regard for codes and authority, and works for the benefit of the people True Good: Aragorn/Elessar, someone who calls out government corruption and greed, but respects the need for laws. Chaotic Good: Post KOTOR Revan, a rogue with a good heart, one who dislikes laws and authorities but works for others benefits selflessly. An altruistic libertarian, essentially. Lawful Neutral:Judge Dredd, someone who works simply for the benefit of themselves or a few and works within the law to achieve their ends. True Neutral: Galactus. A true force of cosmic nature and balance, or nonsentient. Chaotic Neutral: Jack Sparrow. Someone who does the right thing for the wrong reasons, or the wrong thing for the right reasons. Borders on evil, but stays on that border and tightrope, living in the shadows but not being of them, to paraphrase the Bible. Lawful Evil: Kenneth Lay. Someone who commits evil and atrocious acts, but stays within the law. True Evil: The Shredder. Someone with self interest, a like for codes and laws, and misanthropy. Chaotic Evil: Bane. Generally a mad ravenous beast with nothing but themselves in mind and a rabid hunger for destruction. Anyway, mine; Praetyre: Lawful Good. He is concerned with others, works for their benefit, expends his time and money on complete strangers, and works within the law with a respect for his superiors. Arrack: True Good/Chaotic Neutral/Chaotic Evil. His true personality is neither roguish nor paladin, a mix of a disregard for authority and a respect for codes and laws. Essentially a bit like Thomas Jefferson. His infantile personality is essentially legally a child, and so cannot truly have morality, but is chaotic and whining. His aggressive personality is not truly malicious, but destructive and harmful, with paranoia and nuttyness enough to drive off Scrat the Squirrel. |
I got this on a quiz:
Lawful Neutral A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs her. Order and organization are paramount to her. She may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or she may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government. The common phrase for lawful neutral is "true lawful." Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot. --excerpted from the Player’s Handbook, Chapter 6 I seriously want to get into DnD. |
Me: True Good (Or so I hope)
Slurp: Chaotic Neutral Ike: Lawful Good |
Hehe, I likey :D
Me; Lawful Neutral- I don't have the guts to break the law. That's most likely a good thing. Cal; Chaotic Evil/ Chaotic Neutral/ True Good(!)- He's really bad tempered, frequently commits several serious crimes in the average day, and likes abusing drugs. But deep down, under all that meaness and hate, he can be a really caring and kind guy. (Daww) Ricky; Chaotic Neutral/ Chaotic Good- Running from the law, he's a criminal wanted for robbery, damage to property, and murder, but he cares for those he is close to. Hey, can we put our other Oddworld Fancharacters here too, even if they're not in the OWF RPG's? *feels urge to write up the personalities of Wic, Barnabus, Murphy and Veleno* |
Doe - Chaotic Evil
No Glukkon laws, Glukkon rules, or Mudokon traditions hold down Doe, what ever the warrior has set his mind too he will strive for. Doe was once Chaotic Good, but the destruction of his tribe and the death of his best friend Nat have made him somewhat insane. Doe blames all Industrialists, Mudokon or not, for his best friend's death. Nat died trying to save his spiritual guardians the Scrabs. Taking Nat's place, Doe has vowed to free all Scrabs from Industrial grasp. Seeing as Rupture Farms sells Scrabs.... well I feel bad for the place. Ugai - Chaotic Good Ugai doesn't care much for the law unless someone is going around enforcing it. None the less Ugai is willing to risk his life and break laws to help others. |

Well, I failed at Oddworld RPG- I couldn't cope with my characters' story arc after I had to change them 180 degrees from what I wanted them to be, and all the other RPGs I participated in died.
From the fiction I'm working on, the central character, a rare mudokon bounty hunter in Clakkerland, is most likely Chaotic Neutral. He's been left t fend for himself, which has hardened him to life and is unwilling to make sacrifices, though will with reluctance go out of his way to end the suffering of others- it is going out of his way that is met with reluctance, not the aid supplied. Despite being a bounty hunter and therefore upholder of the law (in fact, the only law enforcer there seems to be) he is a free spirit who does not care for local rules and traditions, particularly those not of the Clakkerz. The closest thing he has to a sidekick, the Clakker Stunks McCoy, uses his meetle-based heavy lifting service to transport outlaws in various states of enforced inebriation to jail, since bounty-cans are rarer than fuzzle feet. Stunks' alignment is Lawful Confused. |
Let's see...
Ralph could be kinda tricky to put to a certain alignment... He's probably closest to Lawful Neutral. Through his backstory he would've actually had several different alignments, (including Chaotic Evil and even Lawful Good at one point), but I think Lawful Neutral is closest to where he's at now. As for Hembar... Probably Chaotic Good would be closest for her :p She'll work within rules if she has to, but she prefers to work without them. But she has good intentions. |
Hey I love D&D!
Dr T: Neutral evil #4 slig: LE |
Ok, since nobody replied to my question...
Wic; Hmm, he's a tricky one. He has a pure heart, and would never hurt anyone, but due to him being so young and innocent, and being taken in by criminals, he tends to commit crimes and go against the law, but he doesn't know he's doing the wrong thing. I suppose... he could be... uuh... True Good/True Neutral/Chaotic Neutral. Not exactly evil. Murphy; Probably Chaotic Evil for the most part. He loves blowing things up. Veleno; Hmm... Lawful Evil sounds like something he'd appeal to. Barnabus; Most likely Chaotic Neutral. A runner from the law, but does both Good and Evil deeds equally. Marvak; Lawful Good/True Good. A leader, always only has good intentions, will fight to the death for what is right. |
Wic would be CG [Chaotic Good].
