Fan Corner Suggestion/Question
 

I can't tell if this is a question or a suggestion, or if it goes in the off-topic discussion forum, because it's not really a question about the forums, but it's not a question not about the forums either, and it's about the fan corner but it's not a creative topic, and... well, yeah, I hope this fits here.

So, I was looking through threads for more fanfictions by a certain author, and I saw posts about fanfic awards and such, and I wanted to read every one listed, but I knew I'd have to search for every one individually...

Has anybody ever thought of keeping a small site to list the fanfics that have appeared here as well as links to the posts they can be found at? Not a fancy site, but at least an organized little page thing? Would it be wrong to post links to the threads without the artists' permission, even though it would be linking to the posts rather than copying their work onto the website? Not all artists are still around anymore, I doubt they can be asked...

Actually, what if it was just a thread? A huge thread that was stickied and maybe closed that listed everything? I just checked and listing the fan corner means 44 pages of 1318 posts to look through... but I don't mind doing it; I have the time this summer, and as long as it's something that turns out to be useful, it's cool.

So, is this idea better off not being done, or if it is, should it be a web page or a thread? Is it wrong to link to author's literature posts? I just want to make sure before I do anything.

I think this is a good idea, and I think most authors wouldn't have a problem with it - it might just get them more readers :D But I don't know, some might prefer for their stories not to be listed there - perhaps older stories that they're not so proud of :P

Personally I wouldn't mind having a thread like that, though, it would be nice to have an organised list instead of having to sort through the forum... Perhaps it could even have a small sample of what each story was about? (similar to the back of some books)

I was thinking of something like that, but I can't do ALL of that; I'll list them, but I alone can't read every single one. Maybe some people who are into fanfictions can submit little descriptions about them? They have to be trustworthy people I guess...

Or the authors could make their own little descriptions XD Though that wouldn't work for the ones who are no longer here...

I do love cataloguing stuff and making indeces, but I don’t know what Mitsur is on about. I have loads to do, and fanfics have never been amongst my interests.

I actually really love this idea! I've been thinking about making a thread to collect some of the classic fanfiction of OWF (a bit like the OT 'classics' thread).

So true! :p I can immediately think of a story I've posted here that I don't want anyone to read; it's so embarrassing! It's dead and should stay that way!

Anyway, I might have a talk with my fellow FC moderators and see what they say. A thread to archive old fanfiction and art would be great.
