What is your #1 favourite source for political news?

Your absolute tip top tippity top of the morning fancy pancy favourite political news source. It can be online, it can be FOX, it can be Counterpunch, it can be the Guardian, it can be the BBC, it can be CBS, it can be freakin Jew Watch if you want it to.

Mine has to be LGF.

SeaRex 05-21-2007 07:16 PM

CNN? I guess. Lou Dobbs is a whiny loser, though.

I don't think you can get the BBC on basic cable here in America. At least not where I live.

The Colbert Report, or The Daily Show.

Always get hard-hitting, truthful, no-bullshit reports with those guys.

Patrick Vykkers 05-21-2007 09:15 PM

You do realise the Colbert Report is a parody, right?

Leto 05-21-2007 11:13 PM

It's nothing but politics with you, yeah?

The internets, to answer your question.

You do realise that research has shown that viewers of The Daily Show and Colbert Report are significantly more worldly, knowledgable about politics and better educated than the average population?

Patrick Vykkers 05-21-2007 11:41 PM

I bet that research was full of truthiness.

Who gives a shit?

But, to avoid getting warned........CNN.

Arxryl 05-22-2007 01:24 PM

Um... well, the homepage of msn or Yahoo. I don't watch the news too much.

Rex Tirano 05-22-2007 02:48 PM

On TV: The BBC. Have you watched ITV news? It's utter trash. After the Virginia Tech shootings, they went and found they guy who sold Cho Seung-Hi the guns and asked him if he 'felt guilty' and if he was 'going to apologise to the USA'.

Utter crap.

But usually I just scan the newspapers [as admittedly I'd rather watch Friends when I wake up then the news], and I read The Guardian.

For is not the first nor will be the last time, I realize sarcasm does not translate over the Internet.

Majic 05-22-2007 06:35 PM

I prefer other people to tell me political news. If it sounds like something I should care about, I'll go look it up on CNN for international news, or whatever source pops up first while searching for small scale stuff. This is all assuming, of course, Matt Drudge doesn't already have an adaquet story linked.

Patrick Vykkers 05-22-2007 08:05 PM

Drudge is a rather unfortunate last name, especially for a news reporter.

Number 1 source? I hardly think that prioritising a single news outlet is a wise move.

This man speaks wise words.

Patrick Vykkers 05-24-2007 01:47 PM

I mean, your favourite source out of your favourite sources. For example, let's say User X likes CNN the most. User X may also like BBC, Al Jazeera, and the New York Times in addition to CNN, he just likes CNN the most. A simialr thing goes for me.

Bullet Magnet 05-24-2007 02:31 PM

I'm a drifter. I drift.

Okay. My favourite is New Scientist, I get a lot of stuff from there, though it's all science-related political news (most of which is science under attack and all of which originates in the States). But I don't read it for the politics.

I read all sorts of other things for news.

Al the Vykker 06-01-2007 09:40 AM

Various news sites, but mainly CNN when it comes to televised news. Even though it's just a talk show Real time with Bill Maher on HBO gives a lot of insight to current political and worldly issues and provides an interesting board of guests both conservative, liberal, etc. to encourage debate.

Nate 06-01-2007 11:58 PM

Yeah, I caught that show once in a hotel room in... Portland, Maine. He's awesome. Made me wish I had full-time access to HBO.

looney-bin 06-02-2007 03:36 AM

BBC for me. One the best sources for news out there.
