Starcraft 2

Enjoy the Awesomeness that is Starcraft II. I remember playing the original ages ago. About time they made a sequel to this game. |
Hurray! Huzzah!
|
zOmg! You beat me to it! Damn you, Wolfpac!
Go see the trailers. They rule! I LOVE the Phoenixes :D. |
|
I'm so excited about this, I loved the first one back in the day. Why has it taken them so long to make a sequel? It looks good though.
|
I saw the trailer, not impressed. Graphics are WAAY below standard and from what I saw of the unit balance there's a genuine lack of actual strategy in that game and more of a 'as long as I build the single unit that can take out your unit I'm fine' kinda thing...
Then again I never played any starcraft or warcraft games so who am I to judge right? I'm an experienced gamer, thats who :D. |
Wha-? That comic changed. I swear it meant Starcraft before.
|
True, it's a comic on an url that changes. It's like "Comic of the Day".
Havoc, it's not always about the graphics. Good for me, since I can't always runn those high-end games. The fact that one of the best games ever made now gets a sequel, THAT'S the reason we're hyped. Starcaft was released in 1998 (!), but this year it's the first time it's NOT on the WCG. By the way, which trailer did you see? Did you see the gameplay demo? Then you'll know it's not just getting units of a specific type, and kill everything with them (which could be done in Starcraft, mass Hydra, or mass Dragoon), but now almost every unit has it's hard-counter (High Templar for Zerglings, Immortals for Siege Tanks, Reapers for Immortals, Warprays for Battlecruisers, any small arms units for Warprays, etc etc etc. And about the graphics, remember, they've been designing this game since 2003. It'll rock. Oh yes. |
Do any of you know of the knew characters or units in the new starcraft?
|
meh dawn of war 2 will be better
|

|
I mean they're probably going to make new soldiers to use in the sequel. I just wonder what they might be.
|
XD I saw screenies of the game. And with me being a big fan of SC/SC:BW, I can't anticipate, nor WAIT for this game to come out X3
And there were a bunch of different units. It was kind'a hard to differentiate them from the original units and the newest units. Though 'rines, tanks, Zealots, and Zerglings were easy to distinguish from the pics I saw. The rest...looks like hullabaloo |
You COULD check the site.
Anyways: Protoss: Zealot: Unchanged, except for the "Charge" ability. Immortal: Replacement for Dragoon. Has special shield that activates when hit by high firepower. Stalker: Dark-Templar version of the Immortal; has the ability to "Blink"; Teleporting small distances, to keep up with fleeing enemies. Colossus: Ground unit that can also be targeted as an air unit. Has a cutting laser weapon. Great for killing masses of small enemies. Can walk up and down cliffs. WarpRay: Robotic air unit that attacks with a laser beam. The longer it's attacking a unit, the more damage it'll do. Therefore most effective against units with lots of HP. Phoenix: Light fighter, with the ability to "Overload"; Attacks all enemies in range, for a short period of time. Shuts down for a few seconds afterwards, rendering it useless and vulnerable to attacks. Phase Prism: Mobile Pylon/Transportation unit. Can create a Psionic Matrix. Mothership: Uber-unit. Can create a timetrap, units caught will be trapped in time; this makes missiles for example, will hang still in the air. Can also shoot a high damage "planet cracker", capable of obliterating every ground unit in range. Final special ability: Black Hole. Will create a small black hole, that devours all enemy air units within range. Terran: Reapers: Small arms infantry, capable of jumping on and off cliffs. Zerg: Banelings: The evolved form of the Zergling. The Zergling will increase in size, and becomes a bloated version of itself, filled with chemicals, which will explode on impact. Nydus Worm: Functions as a Nydus Canal. Not much is known about this beast. There, happy? |

But, yes, DoW 2 will be better |
Space Marines, Attack!

It looks great, but I'll probably not get this - there's only three RTS games I've ever been good at, and those are Total Annihalation, Battle for Middle Earth 1, and its sequel. I'll be much more excited when Diablo III comes out :) |
I nearly peed my pants when I saw that Star Craft 2 was official last month.
|
I actually did.
|
I beat you both, I wet myself WITHOUT pants!
(Burial Grounds!) |
Yes. New content. The Protoss Phoenix and Stargate.
Gotta love the Overcharge. |
:
|
Aye.
And there's another thing too. With the Campaign Editor, you can make all kinds of maps. Anyone remember Golem Madness? Gawd, that's an excellent game! |
Ehn...I didn't get into Starcraft enough to be really excited about this, but I can tell you that I am a smidge excited.
Oh,and goresplatter? In Korea, Starcraft is their Fucking NATIONAL PASTIME. Gotta respect that. I could just imagine a country with Manhunt 2 as a pastime....sweeeeet. |
I wonder how those guys who were making the ultimate Star Craft 2 mod for like War Craft 3 feel now that the actual Star Craft 2 is in production.
Now I just have to hope for Diablo 3 someday... |
Archons are back.

And that marine is hot.
