Hi there, ParamiteSurprise. This should be in Oddworld Help.
Yes, you saw a Meech Munchie, the product that helped wip out the whole race of Meeches. This must have been discussed a dozen times (similar topics, anyway). Nice to meet you. I learned from my mistakes to use the search function, so please use that in future ;) . |
Hi ParamiteSurprise. I'm not too sure what you're asking. What youtube video are you referring to?

:
Anyway, what's the question about those Meeches? |

My bad, didn't see that, but GOD is the best place to put it anyway ;)

That's a Sleg.
|
Slegs are a type of suicide slog things that appear in Strangers Wrath.
|
It's not really suicide. They disappear because one bite per sleg is enough, and to prevent areas with Handlers from turning into one writhing, homogeneous ocean of sleg.
Sill, I would have preferred to see slogs, or slogs and slegs. Perhaps strategically distributed to help emphasize the change in environments, and to connect the game to the previous ones more. I know OWI wanted new characters to keep the continuity somewhat separate from those we loved, but a few more lowest-of-the-low animals like slogs, even fleeches, would not in my opinion, have damages that goal and actually enhanced the Oddworld experience of Stranger's Wrath. |
Yep it's a sleg... we never saw any rendered version of Meeches yet
|
I thought Slegs were a great connection with the Oddworld universe. Anyone could tell even by hearing the name that they are a part of Oddworld and probably another breed of Oddworld dog.
|
Actually, I could say Slig, and perhaps get a reference to Edge Chronicles. (Seriousily, a minor character in those series is named Slig.)
What I thought about Slegs was that they were like wild forms of Slogs, sort of like wolves, in comparison to a domesticated dog. I believe that OWI used Slegs in Stranger's Wrath, to resemble that point. The Wolvarks could have easily captured Slegs in the Mongo Valley, since they were so common and could have been tamed. Another reason why there were Slegs instead of Slogs in SW, is because perhaps they wanted to say Sekto wasn't very connected to the Magog Cartel or Vykkers Comlegerate (sp?). They could have said that instead of making business with competors, Sekto could have easily accessed his own resources for security. Just so he didn't have to trade anything for more tamed Slogs. |
