Mutants of the sea....Creepy

A few years back there was a tsunami in the Indian sea...and after that wave, as the water began to reced, people began to find crazy, mutated things on the beach...Kids, dont touch!
Damn, thats some ugly lookin' fish!:p

OMG MUTANTS!

They do look really mootated...

Freaky.

LadySlig 05-14-2007 01:55 AM

What the...? Okay, thats just wrong.

ANN NEELY 05-14-2007 02:04 AM

You silly fools! These aren't mutants; they're obviously deep sea fish. They live miles undersea where it is very dark and thus have no need to worry about appearances.

Alf Shall Rise 05-14-2007 02:38 AM

Hmm looks like something I eat in the evening. Very freaky with sharp teeth, slimy, long, big, some with antennas, some with sharp claws, some with huge eyes, but nothing to be afraid about, ol' chap!

Anyway, I would actually freak if I saw one of those while swimming.

Strike Witch 05-14-2007 02:56 AM

Deep Sea Fish, not mutants.

Gawd.

Marvak 05-14-2007 03:01 AM

In all my knowledge of deep sea fish, I have never heard of a two-headed lobster. Though I could be wrong.
That fifth one down would look awesome hanging on my bedroom wall. And the blob fish looks like my maths teacher.

Xavier 05-14-2007 03:24 AM

Well this was quite intresting... and absolutly ugly.

skillyaslig 05-14-2007 03:47 AM

Hehe, dont touch....Ugg, Those things are UGLY and I would freak right out if I tripped over one at the beach.

Abeguy 05-14-2007 03:55 AM

That blob fish was looking at me...>.>

Bullet Magnet 05-14-2007 05:31 AM

You know that they're supposed to look like that. They have no concern for the quaint, human values of aesthetic quality.

I've met most of those before. Those chimeras, the lizardfish, the squid... that sea spider is a classic example of a deep sea pycnogonid, very weird arthropods, I identified a wayward specimen dredged up in Southampton Water just a few months ago. Their bodies are so small that their digestive system extends into the legs, and they have no respiratory system.

The "blob fish" is the only one too badly damaged to identify.

Seargentbig 05-14-2007 05:53 AM

I've seen a lot of those before (not first hand, mind) and the others don't look particularly wild. Didn't see a two headed lobster in those pictures, though...

Bullet Magnet 05-14-2007 06:02 AM

Those "heads" are simply extensions of the carapace and the antennae appendages.

Slig 7665 05-14-2007 10:03 AM

Man they be some uuuuuuuuggggley fish reminds me of a program called blue planet

moxco 05-14-2007 10:29 AM

That lizard fish is really freaking me out....

Oh, and skillya. I got a favor. could you name the links the name of the fish.
example....

Black Dragon Fish
Blind Lobster
...and so on... Just so it's easier to tell which fish is which.

Jordan 05-14-2007 10:36 AM

Ew... I hate that spider fish. These fish are seriously gross, are they being examined by experts?

Bullet Magnet 05-14-2007 10:45 AM

Spider fish?

Yo Moxco how do you do that, like turn a whole link into a couple words? I've always wondered how some people do that, unfortunately I can't find anyone to teach me how.

Gabiar 05-14-2007 11:25 AM

Uch, off topic:
Normally like this: *text to hyperlink*

But this doesn't always count on certain forums.
EDIT: damnit it did work.....

ignore the full stops: [.u.r.l=*link]*text to hyperlink*[./u.r.l]

moxco 05-14-2007 11:30 AM

Easy. here are the 5 steps.

1. Write the word you want to hyperlink. I'll write 'Oddworld Inhabitants'.
2. Go to the destination site the [site you want to link your word[s] to]. I'll go to 'oddworld.com'.
3. Copy the address of the destination site.
4. Highlight the word you want to hyperlink.
5. At the top of the post box you should see a little icon of an earth with a chain in front off it. Click on it [delete the 'http://']. and paste your link.
Now you should have a hyperlink. Heres mine:'Oddworld Inhabitants'

Christ on a pony...

Mutant fish? Were you people dropped on the head?

Man, I so wish I got to this thread earlier. I'd have had a blast making fun of everyone who thought that those fish were mutants of some sort.

skillyaslig 05-14-2007 08:16 PM

For course they are not mutanted! I know that. They are freaky though, so I will call them mutants :p

Spider fish?

Heh, I mean sea spider.

Sea Spider.

skillyaslig 05-15-2007 01:13 AM

Ugg, I HATE spiders...I dont know why though. If I saw on of them floating towards me in the sea, I would never go to the beach again! *shudders*

Alf Shall Rise 05-15-2007 02:26 AM

Just think of the damage these fish could cause. Some have HUGE teeth, and would attack you on sight. Some of those would probably spray you with poison of some sort. Maybe some are harmless...but that Viper Fish would scare me if I was waay underwater.

I'd grab the nearest rock to me and spend as much time as I could attempting to crush the thing. I know it sounds cruel, but it's instinct when I see a spider. I'd hate to see what it's like when it actually moves. Yuck.
