This is my fan-character Marvak, whom I named my account after :) he's gonna star in a fanfic/fan comic I'm working on... more coming soon.
P.S, This actually my first ever picture of Marvak, so his design and stuff is changing a lot, though he's still the same guy ^^; Thought I might put up a little background info for this fella too.
Marvak is, in a nutshell, the cheif of a recently banded together tribe of mudokons whos goal is to bring down the Magog Cartel, and ultimately, to save and protect Sam. Things take a drastic change of course, however, and whether it's for the good or the bad is yet to be decided...

Hey, I really like this coloring! Very good work. :)

Keep it up, your drawing style looks cool.

Matthew Exodst 05-10-2007 05:20 AM

Pretty nice, keep up at it. :)

Marvak 05-10-2007 06:00 AM

Thank you so much! ^^ The GIMP crashed out on me just as I finished my next picture, so I have to start apain ._. Meh, I'll put it up tomorrow

Jordan 05-10-2007 06:09 AM

I like it! :) Awesome style, can't wait for more!

OddjobAbe 05-10-2007 08:23 AM

Argh, that's a pity...

Well, can't wait to see the next picture. :)

Creepy Doc 05-10-2007 09:18 AM

Wow, looks not bad. Great to see another artist here. :D

Abraham Lure 05-10-2007 10:39 AM

That is a lovely picture. I can actually imagine him in an Oddworld game. He is also beautifully coloured and cleverly drawn. Lovely work with this.

IloveHammy! 05-10-2007 10:52 AM

Wow! You are good man! You got a deviantART account? If not, you should get one. It's really cool and you'd fit right in.

Marvak 05-11-2007 02:05 AM

I do have a devART account, actually XD my username there is Evil-spark-dragon.
Anyway, here's the new picture I said I'd do... um, I hope it's okay to put here, I mean, it's got blood ^^;

His name is Cal. He used to work at Vykkers Labs, untill a... 'work related accident' took his left eye and gave him several scars and bite marks (!). He's now found work in a street gang, called the 'Black Scrabs', which work in a way much like the Mafia. Right now, he's seeking revenge for the, uh... 'work related accident'...

skillyaslig 05-11-2007 03:15 AM

Oh, nasty...how do you draw like that??? I cant, I use paint on computer but they look...limp.

Slig 7665 05-11-2007 03:18 AM

Same here my paint pictures look like deformed pumpkins with conkers shoved in there head

skillyaslig 05-11-2007 03:22 AM

 damn these people around here are funny! cheers me up!

Umm... Lots and LOTS of practice. As in around 6 years practice, and a wacom graphire 4 tablet, and a free downloaded program called the GIMP (lol I'm such a wannabe). Although I used to make rad pictures in paint. <3

Matriar 05-11-2007 04:30 AM

Interesting story. :)

It would be also cool if his sewn up mouth would have gotten opened while this 'work related accident'... then he could talk and stuff... ya know.

dripik_12 05-11-2007 05:04 AM

WOOOOW!:eek:Those pictures are awesome!:eek:Great job!:)

I was just thinking about that! Though in my version, just after he leaves V.L he removes the stitches himself (he is an Intern, a little D.I.Y surgery is nothing to him) seeing as he's no longer forced to wear them. Although I like your suggestion too :)

Matriar 05-11-2007 05:49 AM

Thanks. :)

Most people hates when I barge in their stories. But I couldn't resist this time...

Jordan 05-11-2007 06:41 AM

That's gross, but awesome at the same time. :D Good work man.

Abraham Lure 05-11-2007 06:47 AM

That's cool and that sounds nasty at the same time. Maybe the work-related incident was not an accident. I just had to say it. I can so imagine Cal with a Mr Teatime voice and eye. Just kidding. Great picture. Keep it up.

Matthew Exodst 05-11-2007 08:11 AM

Very nice to that work. Atleast for once I'm seeing some more 'not-for-kiddies' kind of violence in this forum's Oddworld pics. ;)

moxco 05-11-2007 03:16 PM

Very good. Marvak is my favourite.

Perhaps you're right, and the accident was an accident to him, but was deliberate to someone else...

Seeing as I hardly draw Marvak, I feel I owe him an awesome picture full of awesome and lots of wicked. And Awesome. Tweaked his design a bit, tell me what you think!

Creepy Doc 05-12-2007 06:41 AM

That's even cooler than the first picture of him!

Marvak 05-12-2007 06:52 AM

Thanks! XD

Slig 7665 05-12-2007 06:54 AM

All your pics are great

Abraham Lure 05-12-2007 02:43 PM

I just love that precious stone in his cloak. It looks so detailed. I also love how his eyes look. Very good work with this one. I can imagine Marvak with a Breton's voice or an Imperial's voice (Elder Scrolls Reference). But lovely work. He looks like he's going to cast a spell any moment.

Matriar 05-13-2007 12:16 AM

Pretty cool. I like the coloring of that feather on his head most. And all that stuff. :D

OddjobAbe 05-13-2007 03:44 AM

This is all amazing. All I can say is, keep up the good work, Marvak! You're doing an excellent job.
