FALLOUT 3 ??????
If there are any Vault Dwellers here abouts they may like to know that Bethesda software (Marrowind\ Oblivion geeks) shelled out 5.7 million bucks
to buy the IP from Black Island last week. Seems Bethesda picked up some production rights when Black Island sank back in 2000, but now they have the whole package. I'm Vault Dweller :D Fallout is really good game, but I'm afraid Bethesda's Fallout 3 will not be like previous Fallouts (F1,F2). Look at Fallout Tactics - thats really horrible to see mutation of Fallout like that...

Hey , not to worry your english is 100% better than my Czech. :p If you think Tactics was bad , avoid IntrePlay`s whore`n out of Fallout in the Xbox title: Brotherhood of Steel . Yes, I know about the BoS for XBox... on Czech fan site's (http://madbrahmin.bonusweb.cz) forum are lots of people who hate fallout bos.. but there is only one thread about fallout bos - "kletba fobosu" (in czech) - "fobos's curse" (in english).. why? :D
Well, my english is better than your czech.. maybe because we are learning english at school... but I'm not as good as it looks like, I'm using dictionary a lot :D |

Bethesda Softworks is supposed to be putting together a whole new ball game using the Black Isle I P. If Fallout gives you a woodie check out the new Fallout 3 board , you will find about 5000 erect members waiting to cuss and discuss everything Fallout. |

RPG, set in post apocolyptic future. With retro 50s styling.
Very free form, you can slaughter whole towns if you so desire, being one of the first RPGs that lets you be truely evil. In the first fallout team AI is attrocious, so more often than not you're killed by your own team but Fallout 2 is much improved. Lot's of guns, old fairly bad but lovable isometric graphics, mutants and all that shit. Oh, and it's fucking hilarious. |
Sounds like an early Morrowind. Only with... like, guns and teammates and stuff. I usually don't go for RPGs, but post-apocalyptic = goodness.
I think I'll keep an eye out for Fallout 3. |

If you want to play a goodie-two-shoes, you can. If you want to play an evil bastard, you can (Yes, you really can hit children in the groin with a sledgehammer). If you want to play a moron who can hardly talk because of his low intelligence, you can." --Shadowman You can play as a hot babe and basically bonk you way through the new west You can play as some wimp who can talk like a uber slick snake oil salesman and BS your way through. You can play as hand-to-hand only ( mighty tough at first, since most everyone is tote`n big honking guns.) There are so many ways to approach these games it`s mind boggling . As the mighty HO of BOness pointed out the games are downright hilarious. As for the graphics, keep in mind the games are ten year old, what was cutting edge then is a little weak by Gears of War standards, but still quite playable, and you don`t need some honcho space shuttle computer to play it. If you want to get on board one can pick up the Fallout Collection (Fallout, Fallout2, Fallout Tactics {a last ditch effort by Interplay to milk the last drop of moola out of Fallout}) on eBay for about 25 bucks or so. Be advised this is a DVD repeat a DVD not a CD. So if ya ain`t got no DVD player on your puter your S.O.L. "WAR........................ WAR never changes ..................." You vault dwellers will learn to love that statement, Ron" Hellboy" Pearlman sez that at the start of each game, OUT. ;) |

Surprisingly I had never heard of the Fallout series until I saw this preview on IGN the other day. However, I'm really considering getting this game. I love the fact that they got the rights to about 20 songs from the 1940's era too.
