Becoming a Slave
Ok, heres my new story Im working on. My other story "Kites Oddysee" is being postponed for awhile, so I hope you like my new story and tell me what you think.
Becoming a Slave For the last few weeks it had been raining, day and night. It was strange that it had been raining so much lately since it never really rained much here. I don’t know why it had been raining so much in the last few weeks but this night it was raining particularly hard. “Pompo, get over here!” I shouted as I sat in my favorite chair and looked out the window. Pompo was one of my more favorite slaves, I guess you could say a friend to me. He was a strong one with a stern attitude. Even when I told him to do hard laborious work he never complained, he was always quiet and never said a word. But at times I would question his sanity, sometimes I would walk past him while he was cleaning and I would hear him talking violently to himself almost as if he had a split personality. “I have an errand for you.” I quickly said as he approached my chair. Pompo just stood hovering over me, staring. I looked into Pompo’s eyes and I noticed that tonight they were blank, like he had no life in him at all. “Are you O.K.?” No response. “Here I want you to go to the Slave house and talk to the owner about buying some new slaves.” Pompo just stood there staring at me not saying a word. “You got it? Now heres a whole bag full of money so don’t be afraid of spending too much.” Pompo looked down at the bag for a second then silently took it from my hand. “Yes, sir.” he said with a blank look on his face. Without saying another word Pompo turned with the bag in his hand and left the room. I waited for the front door to slam, and when it did I looked out the window just in time to see Pompo running towards the slave house in the rain before he disappeared into the darkness. “Maybe I should have sent a different slave” I said suddenly having a feeling of regret for sending Pompo. I got up from my chair and went into the kitchen, when I realized that I’d have to fix my own supper because the slaves were all sleeping. I quickly disposed of the idea and went to watch TV. As I sat down again and turned on the TV, I kept thinking of that blank look in Pompo’s eyes. The hours quickly passed by and there was no sign of Pompo, I began to get worried that Pompo had betrayed me and decided to escape with my money. Twelve o’ Clock and it was raining even harder than before. At Twelve Thirty, I decided to send a slave out to go look for Pompo, but just as I got up I heard the front door open then quickly close. “Pompo.” I said to myself with a sigh of relief. I quickly walked down the hall to see what new slaves Pompo had brought me. But to my suprise when I reached the front door there where no slaves, just Pompo. “Well, where are they?” I asked as I noticed that Pompo’s cloths were torn. “What happend to your cloths?” Pompo just looked at me with the same blank, empty eyes that I had seen before he left. I quickly grabbed Pompo by the shoulders and shook him asking what had happened. But Pompo didn’t say a word, he just stood there with ragged cloths and bloody scars. “What happened!” I shouted angerly trying to get some response from Pompo, but my shouting soon became plea’s for Pompo to tell me what had happened. Then I suddenly realized something, Pompo didn’t have the bag of money I had given him earlier. “Pompo wheres my money!” I shouted in a desperate panick. All through the night I kept asking and pleading Pompo to tell me what happened to him and my money, but he never answered me, he just stood there. “Was he in shock?” I asked myself, but if he was in shock then what caused it? I kept asking myself that all night. The next thing I remember was waking up to the sound of loud knocking at my front door. I yawned as I got up and wondered who could be at the front door. Then I remembered last night, what had happened to Pompo. I quickly found out when I saw Pompo’s body laying on the floor...dead. “Pompo!” I shouted as I dropped to my knees and began crying. I had lost my only friend and with that thought more tear’s poured from my already soaked eye’s as I remembered all the time’s I had with Pompo, all the times I had with my friend. As I layed on the floor crying I didn’t notice that the pounding on my door had stopped and that there was voices calling my name in the hallway. “Drix!” I suddenly stopped crying and looked down the hallway, but all I could see where blurry figures heading towards me. “Drix, you are under arrest for killing Mo, the slave house owner.” “What?!” I shouted in suprise. “Hey, boss look at this. Looks like he killed this one too.” I heard a Sligs voice say. “Take him away.” The other voice shouted. I could feel somone quickly grab my arm’s and start dragging me down the hall. I kept asking myself how Mo had died and how come they thought I killed him. But the only answer I could think of was that Pompo had gotten into a fight with Mo. After all Pompo and Mo did have a strange history that involved one another. As I was being driven away in a police truck I passed out, but I could still hear the other sligs voices around me. “Hey boss, he passed out.” “Good” After that there was some silence, but after about a minute the two Sligs in the back of the truck with me started talking again. I ingored most of their converstation but when one of the Sligs said something it caught my attention. “Yo, boss whadda we gonna do with his slaves” “What do you mean, they all excaped last night.” “Oh yea” I couldn’t belive what I had just heard. How could all my slave escape I was awake most of the night and I always keep their door locked from the outside at night... unless... Pompo! He must have stolen my key and then let them free. “But aren’t we gonna go look for them?” “Yes, right after we kill him.” As soon as I heard that my heart stopped and I quickly regained consensness. When they had noticed that I had regained consensness they all looked at me and stopped talking. They where gonna kill me an inosent man! I had to get out of here! ![]() [ August 07, 2001: Message edited by: Oddsville ] |

Well heres the second chap. Sorry it took so long I'll try to post the other chapters sooner, oh yeah please tell me what you think of my story...
Chapter 2: It was then when I started planning my escape. I knew I had to get away and prove that I was innocent. But how was I gonna escape? The two Slig guards stared at me as if they knew I was planning something then to my suprise both Sligs said something that changed my view of their kind forever. “Hang on well gettya outta here.” said the one Slig infront of my while the other just nodded his head. I couldn’t believe it, these Sligs where actually gonna let me go free! “Oh, by the way my names Chris and this is Tom.” Tom just looked at me and nodded his head again. I was about to introduce myself when Chris interrupted me. “You don’t have to introduce yourself, we know who you are.” For a moment there was silence as I sat their with a huge grin on my face. But one question kept bugging me. “Why are you guys helping me?” “I don’t know... we just are.” As Chris said this he had a kinda sad tone in his voice and from the looks of it I could tell he was reminiscing back to a certain event that happened in his life. The truck quickly stopped as we came to a stoplight and it was then the I could see on how the Sligs planned to get me out. Once we stopped Chris looked at Tom, and Tom just nodded back. “Yo Boss, can we make a quick stop I gotta go.” The boss just looked back at Chris, with a furious look and said... “Why didn’t you go before we left!?” Chris just sat there trying to think of an excuse. “Ohh, ok I’ll let ya go.” When the light turned green we made a right turn and headed for the nearest gas station. Once we stopped Chris quickly opened the back doors and ran out. I looked at Tom to see where this plan was going, but Tom just nodded his head towards the to back doors. It was then I noticed that the back doors where slightly opened. Relizing that this was my only chance I ran and dove out the doors. “Hey!” The Glukkon Boss said as I made my escape. As I landed on the cement ground I stopped for a second to see If I could catch a glimpse of Chris and thank him, but I couldn’t see him and out of the corner of my eye I could see the Glukkon Boss catching up to me. I quickly turned and began to run but as I did I could feel the Glukkons body landing on mine, I couldn’t believe it that was the first time I had ever seen a Glukkon pounce like that. As I laid their still pondering how the Glukkon had managed to jump the ten feet onto me I could hear him whisper. “You couldda coast me my job, you bastar-!” But the Glukkons foul mouth was interrupted by the voice of Chris. “He midda not coast you your job, but he did coast you your life!” With that said the Glukkon let out a quick gasp then his breath was quickly cut short by the sound of a gunshot. I laid their stunned into silence as the Glukkon thick, cold blood trickled down my neck. “You ok?” I could hear Chris ask as I shoved the Glukkons dead body off of me. “You saved me again... thanks.” I said slowly trying to regain breath. I looked down at the Glukkon and for the first time I could see him clearly, not through blurry eyes or from behind the back but face to face... and I noticed that the glowing red in his eyes had slowly began to disappear and for a moment I felt sorry for him as I relized that he wasn’t the evil, self-centered creature I had thought his race to once be. He had changed my view of his kind, just like Chris had changed my view of his. “Well, looks like Im a wanted criminal now also. Do you mind if I travel with ya?” I just looked up, smiled and said “sure...” ![]() |

Well, heres Chapter 3 sorry its alittle short, I promise to make the next one longer...
Chapter 3 As we walked through the city, I could tell that the day was at the hottest it could get. As we walked no one seemed to even notice us throughout most of the day. As me, Chris, and Tom walked down the streets looking for some shade, I noticed some kind of orb thing hovering around with a tv screen in front of it and loud speakers on the sides. “What is that?” I asked Chris But by the -gasp- that Chris had made when he saw them I could tell that they meant trouble. “No time, we gotta get outta here!” Said Chris in a panic I stood there in confusion trying to ponder what could be so horrible about this thing that could get Chris in a panic, but I didn’t have time to think as Chris grabbed me by the arm and dragged me down the nearest alleyway with Tom following close behind. We were soon gasping for air in the days heat as we ran even further into the ally. I decided to see if anything had followed us, and my questions were quickly answered as I saw the same thing we were running from chasing us down the ally. The faster we ran, the quicker the thing gained speed. As I tried to make out what it was, I noticed a small robotic arm patruding from the bottom of it. As I took a closer glance at the robotic arm, I noticed what its purpose was. On the bottom of the arm was a huge syringe and it was pointing straight at us! “Chris” I shouted worryingly as we approached a dead end. “I know” he yelled “I have an idea” We quickly reached the solid brick wall that awaited us at the end of the ally way, I turned and backed into the wall, the thing was just yards away from us and getting closer. “Well, what’s you Plan Chris?” I said as my voice trembled uncontrolably. “On the count of three, jump to the sides of the ally.” I was surprised on how brilliant and simple the plan was, considering it was made by a Slig. “1.....2.....3!” I don’t really remember what happened as my face flew towards the side of the ally wall, I do remember jumping after the count of two and severe pain when my face had made impact with solid brick. After a couple of seconds of rolling around on the ground in pain I took a glance behind me. Chris and Tom where both standing over me as if they thought I was an idiot for jumping into the wall. “Well, it’s not like you guys didn’t hit the wall either...” “You’re right, we didn’t.” Chris said as Tom just looked to the ground shaking his head and I sat their in silence “Well... what happened to that thing that was chasing us?” “That thing was called a Security Bot and If it caught up to us it woulda killed us.” “Oh.” There was some more silence as we all realized that our bad situation had just gotten worse. “Common Drix we gotta get out the city.” “Umm... Ok but where will we go?” “I don’t know Drix, that’s up to you to decide you’re the leader of this group.” As Chris said that my bruised up face made a slight smile. I had gotten up off the ground and started to walk back up the ally way trying to plan our route of escape. “Wait-”said Chris “This might come in handy.” He said as he broke off the syringe from the smashed up robot and gave it to me, actually it was one of the only parts of the robot that hadn’t been smashed up. “Well, lets get outta here” I said with a smile on my face as I realized that I was actually a leader for the first time in my life, and I was determined to go down in history as one of the best leaders ever... ![]() |

Ok here is chapter 4, hope ya like...
Chapter 4 The Sun was beginning to set as we reached the outer limits of the city and by the time we got to the very end of the city it was night. *Sigh*- “Well, we better call it a night, come on we can set up camp once we reach that giant bolder in the distance.” I waited for a response from Chris but there was only silence. As we walked through the night the only sounds that could be heard where the insects chirping and the gravel crushing under our feet. The boulder we would camp out at was still a distance away so I decided to take a glance around at my surroundings. There really wasn’t much to look at on the ground except for a nearby gas station that we were heading up to and that giant bolder in the distance where we’d soon be camping so my gaze turned to the stars. “Ahh, this is beautiful.” I said as I turned my glance to Chris. “Yeah, sure is.” Chris said as he looked up with me. From then on there was more silence and I decided to glance at the stars alittle more, that is until we finally reached the gas station. Although it was dark out I could still tell that it was an old and run-down gas station. “We should get some supplies.” Chris said as he nodded towards the store. “Yeah I guess your right.” With that we all turned and headed into the gas station. As we entered a little bell rang at the top of the doors and a strange creature turned its view from the T.V to the us. “Yeah, whaddya want?”said the strange creature. I had seen several creatures like this when I used to live in the city, they kinda looked like Glukkons except really fat. “Umm... well could we get some supplies?” “Just take what you need then give me the money.” “Ok... thanks, you guys wait here I’ll be right back.” “Hey, you don’t know what we need. You wait here and we’ll go get the stuff we need, you just watch this guy.” Chris said as he whispered into my ear. I watched as Chris and Tom disappeared into the maze of small isles, then I turned my attention to the clerk. He was back watching T.V and ignoring us so I decided to take a look around also. I noticed that there was a little shelve with all sorts of small candies on it and as I walked up I started reading all the names that appealed to me. “ Crunchy Rockz, no... Gummy Guts... Gum Rott-” My reading was cut short by the reporters voice on the T.V. I quickly dropped the candy turned around just in time to see three familiar faces on the glowing screen, Me, Chris, and Tom. The clerks jaw dropped once he saw this then he slowly turned his gaze to me, but all I could let out were nervous chuckles. “Your them guys on the T.V.!” “Yeah” I said with a tone of nervousness “Theres a big reward for the capture of you three, dead or alive!” By that time Chris and Tom had gotten all we needed and were heading back towards the counter. “Here ya go.” Chris said as he dumped a huge variety of supplies onto the counter. But Chris and Tom quickly noticed our familiar faces up on the T.V screen. For a moment there was some silence, then the Clerk quickly reached under the counter and pulled out a shotgun. “Now you guys stand there and don’t move” The Clerk said as he turned around picked up a phone and quickly started dialing the number that was on the T.V screen. As he was talking to the person on the other line Chris nudged me in my side. “What?” I whispered annoyingly. But all he did was point at my Knapsack, but he didn’t have to explain anymore I knew what he wanted me to do. I silently opened my knapsack and pulled out the syringe we had got from earlier on in the day. Then as quietly as I could, sneaked up behind the cashier and held the syringe up to his neck point first. “Drop the phone” I whispered into his ear. Immediately the cashier dropped the phone and slowly put up his hands. I could hear the persons voice on the other line as the suspended phone swung freely off the counter. Chris came up behind and pushed the receiver. “Now why’d you have to go and do that.” Chris said to the clerk “Should we kill him?” I asked Chris “I don’t know thats up to you.” Chris said as he walked back to the counter and helped Tom bag our supplies. As I stood their holding the clerk hostage, Chris and Tom decided to get alittle bit more supplies before we left. As they searched the store I stuffed the clerk into the broom closet tied him up and gagged him. When we were all ready I put the syringe back into my knapsack and we all left the store. Afew hours later we reached the giant bolder and set up camp. As we unpacked I fumbled with putting up my tent but soon gave up when Chris and Tom offered to set it up for me. Afew more hours later we were all set up and ready to get a good nights sleep. “One of us has to keep watch.” Chris told me as I began to crawl into my tent. “Ok, fine you do it.” I said as I finished crawling into my sleeping bag. “Yeah, whatever.” Chris said angrily as he climbed up onto a small bolder and looked off towards the city. The next thing I knew I was waking up to the sound of loud snoring and the urg of really having to go to the bathroom. I quietly unzipped my sleeping bag and crawled out of the tent expecting to see Chris keeping guard, but I wasn’t surprised when I saw that he had fallen asleep. I sighed and walked up to the base of the giant bolder where we were camping. I began to go to the bathroom when, through the darkness I noticed something on the base of the wall. As I squinted my eyes I realized that they were cave paintings. In awe I began to stare and ponder what they meant. To me it looked like a map of some kind with some other drawings here and there but yet in had a sense to it that kept my attention. As I walked down the side of the wall filled with strange lines and shapes I noticed something at the very end. I ignored all the rest of the paintings as I walked to where the paintings ended. At the end was a hand print that was strangely similar to mine and for a moment I didn’t know what to think of it but suddenly I began to raise my hand for no apparent reason and slowly touched the hand print with the tip of my fingers. Instantly when I did this my arm froze in its place and the paintings began to glow a beautiful yellow light. My hand began to get more and more stiff as the paintings grew brighter and brighter. Strange little balls of light began to circle around me then suddenly everything went dark and I was thrown to the ground. Amazed I got up and realized that my arm was extremely sore. As I got up off the ground my jaw dropped when I saw that my whole left arm had turned a dark blue color with two white bands around it. I couldn’t understand what had just happened so I went back to my sleeping bag to think about it, but after time I slowly fell asleep. ![]() |
Well, like last chapter, chapter5 is alittle short sorry I've been pressed on time. Anyways I hope you enjoy...
Chapter 5 The next morning I woke up to a violent shaking. Anyoyed, I stretched and opened my eyes to see what was going on. “Wh-what-whats going on?” I slowly stuttered as I yawned lazaly. “Comon, we slept to long and now thier after us!” “Who’s after us?” I asked Chris in confuzion. “Just common.” Chris grabbed my arm and pulled me out from the tent. As Chris continued to drag me out of the tent he took a quick glance at my arm. “What happened to your arm?” “Well, last night I found these strange paintings and-” but I was quickly cut short by Chris’ voice. “No time, explain to me later. Tom’s got the supplys all packed together, lets go.” I still had no idea what was going on untill I took a glance behind me. As my eyes scanned across the bolder filled plain I noticed that a huge crowed of Slig guards, slogs, and some kinda armord robots called Syrens. From what I could see they haven’t had noticed us yet but they where pretty close to catching up to us.We imediatly left the area trying to cover up any clues to where we where heading. About twenty minutes after we left we could hear the sound of the Sligs metalic pants and the Slogs barks of hunger. As we continued the day went by slowly as me, Chris, and Tom traveled further into the desert and even further from civilization. I had explained to Chris what had happened to my arm earlier on in the day and when we reached noon time the heat was unbearable. It reminded me of thouse fictonal storys that I had heard of a Mudokon Slave that had traveled through the desert and destroyed Soul Storm Brewery. Although I was still not sure if these stories where true, there had been a massive shortage of all Soul Storm products in the city. I soon forgot about all the storys I had heard as bordom and heat overcome me. “Chris Im gonna pass out.” I panted as I walked with my skin saturated in sweat. Chris just looked at me and said, “You don’t see me or Tom complaining.” “Tom never says anything!” I yelled at Chris as Tom just look up at me and then back at Chris. “Well don’t blame him, he has his reasons.” Chris said as he patted Tom on the back. From then on there was silence, untill we reached Sunset. As we where walking a sweet and welcoming sent greeted my nose. “Do you guys smell that!” I yelled franticly licking my lips. Chris looked at Tom and Tom just shook his head no, then said, “I don’t smell anything.” “Well, how could you not smell that its sooo.... sweat and good!’ But Chris and Tom ignored my claims and continued on. It was not untill the sun had set when Chirs and Tom finally belived me and my claims to a sweet, wounderfull smell. “Do you hear that?” Chris had said to us being the first one that noticed the strange noise. It was a distant drumming noise and this time everyone belived that something was out there. Our surronding had changed from a plain and empty desert to a place that looked much like the imfamous Scrabanian Desert, with giant bolers everywhere but still mostly sand. We had followed the strange drumming noise into a huge crevace and the further we strayed into its depths the louder the noise got. The drumming sound now sounded as if it where a few feet away and the crevace we where in began to widen. As we approched the end of the crevace the sweet and wounderfull smell I had smelt before was now everywhere, not only that but we could see torches in the distance! ![]() [ December 15, 2001: Message edited by: Oddsville ] [ December 15, 2001: Message edited by: Oddsville ] |

Your very skilled indeed ![]() |
Sorry guys no new chapter yet, its just I didn't wanna get this topic deleted. I promise the next chapter is comming soon...
|
Hi, Oddsville. I just finished reading this fic, and I think it's very good. I kept interested in the plot during the whole 5 chapters so far.
An important observation: the story is told by the point of view of Drix, which a someone who had slaves and lived in his own house, so I suppose he has some money. But, what kind of creature is Drix? And Pompo? You hasn't made it clear through the whole story. Was that intentional? the incident with the cave paintings made me think of him as a mudokon, but who knows? His thoughts of Abe sounded as if Abe was a different species from him. Anyway, next chapter, please? |
Yay, my storys back! Sorry for thoughs who where reading it I kinda lost it for while but now Ive found it agian and Im anxious to continue it. To Lampion Im not really sure what speices Drix is but I'll show you a picture I've drawn of him soon. Pompo was a very tall, very muscular Mudokon that never really said much. I hope you guys aren't to mad and can get back into my story again. Please tell me your thoughts of my latest chapter.
Chapter 6 Chris and Tom imedatly ran ahead of me twoards all the lights and noises. “Hey wait up!” I shouted as I gathered every last ounce of my strength and ran after the two. With Chris and Tom just a few feet ahead of me they entered to what looked like to me a village of some sort, except it looked like it was made from junk out of a dump. As we wandered further into the strange village I noticed that this strange village was actually a dump itself and that there where a whole varitaty of different creatures dancing around a gigantic bon-fire just ahead of us. We countinued to run closer untill we where right behind the dancing villagers. For a couple of minutes knowone seemed to notice us so we took a quick glance at our surroundings. Finally one of the native villagers (a Mudokon) dancing in the back of the crowd noticed us and began shouting. “Outsiders!” When this was shouted all the villagers stopped dancing, the druming stopped, and everyone turned to stare at us. “Oh, don’t let us spoil your fun keep dancing.” Chris said as he slowly tip-toed over to an old rusty table stacked with food and began pigging out. Tom just bowed to the villagers then tip-toed over and joined Chris. “Who are you!” A deep voice shouted from the heart of the crowed. Chris and Tom stopped there chewing midway and looked up, juice dripping out each of there masks as they did. As we all looked twoards the crowed we could see all the villagers start making way for whoever had shouted. When the one who we where all waiting for emerged I was suprised to see how small he was. When Chris saw him he spit out whatever he was chewing earlier and started laughing hystericly. Tom tried to swallow his food and join in the laughter but he oviously hadn’t chewed enough because he immeadeatly started choking on whatever it was he was tring to swallow. Chris just continued to laugh as Tom continued to choke. I could see that Chris wasn’t going to do anything about Toms situation so I imediatly walked over and slapped Tom on the back. As I did this a bone of some type flew from his mask and landed at my feet. Tom quickly took in all the air he could then quietly stared at the bone, then at me, and then back to the little guy that had emerged from the crowd. When Tom saw him he imeadiatly started laughing with Chris. Both Chris and Tom where rolling on the ground with laughter, which was understandably so. This new creature that I had never seen before was about up to my knee in highth and he had huge buldging eyes. Even though I had found this sight also to be funny I still had the smarts to realize that Chris and Tom drasticly underrated the situation we where in. “What-the hell-are-you-susposed-to be” Chris struggled to say throughout his laughter. But obviously the small creature hadn’t found anything funny at all and stared at us with anger. “I am Tac the leader of this village, and this is my deciple Nex.” “Your the leader!”As Chris said this he and Tom began laughing ever harder. “I am sorry Tac, I am Drix and these are my friends Chris and Tom.” I looked at Chris and waited to see if either him or Tom would take the time and say ‘Hi’ to Tac but they just continued to laugh. “The leader!!” Chris shouted to himself and continued to laugh even harder. “What are you the leader of Munchkinville?” Chris asked as he strugguled to taking in air through his laughter. But with every little thing that was said Chris and Tom would just continue to laugh even harder. “Um...Where fugitives on the run.” I said nervously. “If your fugitives then why do you have two Sligs with you?” Tac’s deciple Nex asked. As I studied Nex I could see that he was much taller then Tac was (he was around my hight) and he was much thinner to. Nex's voice also had a strange lowness to it and whenever he spoke it sent shivers down my spine. “These guys are fugitives two, they helped me out.” When the crowed heard that the two Sligs still rolling on the ground laughing where actually fugitives a great murmmer spread throughout the crowd. “Truely you are a uniqe duo, Im sure you shall fit right in with our villagers.” “Why is that?” I asked with quriostity “Because this village was built by runnaway slaves many years ago, now this is the common resting point for renagade slaves before they go and look for a life of freedom.” The first thought that came to my mind was Pompo, if he where alive mabye he would have been here. “Come I will show you to your rooms... that is if you do want to stay with us?” As Tac said this he looked at Chris and Tom whos laughter had calmed down abit but was still going. I just looked smiled and said “Yes, We’d love to say for the night”... |
Brilliant story Oddsville keep up the great work.
|
Alright heres chapter 7. Could you guys all tell me what you think please? Oh and thanks Kaimana.
Chapter 7 That night was my first night in a comfy bed ever sience all of this began. I could hear Chris still making jokes to Tom about Tac in the next room. But eventually the candal light from their room faded and the onle light to keep me company was that of the legenday Mudokon moon shining through my window. I had heard many stories about that moon... how it was formed, what it ment, and why it was made in the first place. All of them where rumors of course. But one story kept coming to mind as I lay in my bed. I wasn’t quit sure if this was true or false but it was intriuging. It was the one about the night that Abe (the suposed Mudokon Terrorist) escaped from Rupture Farms. It was said that after he got past a group of Slogs gaurding the premissis that he looked up into the night sky for the first time and saw the moon. As he looked at this he put up his paw, turned into a bat and flew away. Im not quite sure which part is true and which part isn’t but it did kinda remind me of the situation that we where now in... together. The next thing I knew I was waking in a cold sweat screaming. Chris and Tom came running in, both with guns loaded and ready. “What the hell happened?” Chris yelled Tom just ignored me and started searching the room, first he looked under my bed then he quickly moved to the cubbord. “I- I had a dream.” I said as Tom then moved his search to the closet infront of my bed. “Thats it?” Chris asked angerly. “Yeah, it was about Pompo... he was being hung by some Glukkons.” “Well, it was just a dream. Now get back to bed, were going to have to get some more supplys tomorrow.” “Yeah, ok.” I said as I stared to the end of my bed. By now Tom had finished his search of my room and was already getting back into bed. I just started to breath heavaly as I layed back down. “Hey, its ok he died peacfully.” Chris finished off by saying goodnight then turned around and left the room. Chris was right, he died peacfully and now he had nothing more could hurt him. With that thought I quickly fell back to sleep. The next moring I was awoken by sunlight streaming through my window and the sound of birds chiping out side. I could hear Chris and Tom in one of the other rooms trying to make breakfast. Chris was yelling at Tom for burning the eggs and spilling the juice. As I entered the room Chris was still yelling at Tom waving a spatula around in the air with an apron that said - Kiss the Cook-. I laughed as I read that. “Where’d you get that?” I asked curiously “And I thought we where outta food!?’ I asked even more curiously “You know this little junk heap is amazing, they have there own little downtown here.” Chris said as he put down the spatulla. “Hmm, interesting.” I said as I noticed that Chris and Tom had managed to buy the village newspaper. I imediatly began reading it as I sat down and waited for breakfast to be ready. Chris had begun yelling at Tom again for doing somthing else wrong but I wasn’t really paying attention, I was reading a story on the retirement of the village chief, Tac, that was to come in a few more days. But halfway through the artical I was ruddly interupded by Chris. “ You know you could help us with the breakfast here!?” “ Yeah I know.” I said as I countinued to read the paper. Out of the corner of my eye I could see with his arms on his waist staring at me, as Chris stared I could just barly see Tom in the background of Chris continuing to try to make breakfast, but I could tell it was to no avail. As I countinued on with my story Chris seemed to forget about me and go back to the breakfast. “ What are you doing you idiot!?” Chris yelled as he realized that Tom had complicated our breakfast problems even more. I just grinned and told myself that today was going to be a great day... |

(Wow this ones along one! Hope you can read all of it without falling asleep!:fuzwink:) Chapter 8 As me and Chris finally put out the last of the flames from our breakfast fire we both took a seat and tried to calm down. “What where you thinking Tom!?” I desperately tried to shout through my panting. I turned to Chris to see if he had anything to add but he just panted and wiped the steam from his eye lenses with a dirty and burnt rag we had used to aid us in putting out the fire. Tom just stood for a couple of seconds watching us catch our breath then quickly and quietly made his way to the fridge, began pulling out a variety of ingredients and then put them on the oven as he retried to cook us breakfast. “Dammit!”- “Aw Crap!” we both seemed to shout as Me and Chris lunged towards Tom at the same time and with amazing speed. I had managed to tackle Tom while Chris quickly grabbed all the food and turned off the beatup oven. “Tom, I don’t think cookings your thing.” I said as I panted frantically. “Yeah ya idiot!” Chris quickly added through his pants. We both continued to pant desperately trying to get more air than we needed. Suddenly having a feeling of nausea I leaned forward and looked down. “Uhhhh” I groaned trying to take my mind off of what had just happened and the throwup that was about to pay me a visit. As I stared I slowly began studying the small little grooves in the tile floor. Out of the corner of my eye I could see burnt pieces of my paper I had been reading when the fire started. I leaned forward to take a better look at it and quickly realized that it was part of the article on Tac, the village chief, that I had never finished. “Huh?” I blurted out as I picked up the little piece of burnt paper. It was the last few paragraphs of the article , with one or two bits of it missing. As I studied charred paper some more I decided that I should go and pay Tac a visit, maybe the fresh air from the outdoors will help me feel better and I can see how much it will coast to fix the kitchen. With that in Mind I got up and made my way to the front door. “Hey” I heard Chris shout to me as I reached for the knob. “Yeah?” “Where are you going?” Chris asked as he nodded towards my hand stretched out for the door knob. “Just for a walk, why?” “Um, well I just wanted to know if you had seen Tom?” Suddenly I realized that Tom had disappeared from the kitchen. I glanced around the room real quick then looked back at Chris. Although he had a metallic mask on I could tell he had the exact same look on my face... panic. In an instant we heard a loud crash from the living room and immediately ran in their. When we got there a ceramic pot that was used to catch the wax from the burning candle it held was knocked onto the floor, shattered but Tom was know where to be found. Suddenly a couple of thuds came from one of the rooms ahead of us, but it was hard to decipher which. “I got this room, you go in their” Chris said as he pointed to the room on my right. “Gottcha” And without another word we both stealthfully made our way into the two rooms. I stopped in the doorframe and peaked in. A couple more things had been knocked over but not broken. I quickly and quietly made my way into the room and glanced around, nothing. I was now faced with two options one door to the left of me and one to the right. Since the one to the left was closest to Chris’s search area I decided to take the right one. I tiptoed up to the doorframe then burst through and looked around but I still had nothing. Nothing had been knocked over in this room so I decided to continue on. This time I didn’t really have a choice their was only one door to my left and it lead into the main hallway. Caught up in the moment (and in my stupidity) I put my two hands together and pretended it was a gun. As I ventured towards the door with my new gun I met up with Chris in his doorway on the opposite side of the hallway. “Anything?” he replied wiping sweat and panting even more heavily. “Nope” I replied as I looked down the hallway back towards the kitchen. “What the hell are you doing?” Chris replied panting as he noticed my pretend gun. “Wha? oh.... nothing.” I said in embarrassment putting my hands back to normal. The silence was suddenly shattered when we heard aloud crash comming from the kitchen. “Oh No!” I muttered as we both ran at top speed down the hallway. We got to the main living room right infront of the kitchen and slowed down. As we listened I could hear some pots clanging and the refrigerator door being shut. “Ok, I’ll go in first and suprise him then you run in and make sure he doesn’t get past me.” “Right” I said quietly As Chris quietly stepped ahead I put my hands back into the shape of a gun again and quietly followed. We both stopped at the edge of the door frame and waited. Then without warning Chris jumped into the kitchen yelling. Unprepared and suprised I stood there as the sound of pots and pans crashed everywhere. “Get him!” I heard within the kitchen. Remembering my role, I jumped towards the doorframe. As I did Tom ran out infront of me, looking back. In a panic I held up my handgun and shouted... “Freeze!!” Tom just stood their staring at me, then slowly put his hands up. Chris came out of the kitchen immediately after rubbing his forehead. “Ow, why’d you have to throw that pot at me!?” Chris said as he looked up and saw me standing their with my handgun aimed at Tom and Tom surrendering with his hands in the air. “........... You guys are weird.” Chris said as went and sat down in the living room. Me and Tom just started laughing as we both looked at eachother. “Ahh, ok guys Im gonna go take a walk now.” I said patting Tom on the back while I passed him. I entered the kitchen and saw a mountain of pans, pots, and various other kitchen utensils scattered all over the floor. It seemed as if the repairs where gonna cost more all of a sudden. I just sighed and exited the front door. The sunlight glared into my eyes as I squinted and gazed in awe at all the villagers acting out their lives. There where merchants in little booths lined up on the side of the road, a wide variety of species having conversations and such, some where even on tall ladders hanging up decorations. “Now why would they be doing that?” I thought to myself but then suddenly realized an article I had read in the paper. The article said the tomorrow night was the celebration of the four slaves that had founded the village. “Hmm...” I mumbled and continued on. I was suprised to see how friendly all the villagers where as just about everyone had greeted me in every way imaginable. Even the merchants seemed joyous as each one I passed tried to sell me something. “Ahh, just like the big city.” I said as a smile appeared on my face but I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was being watched. Every time I looked around all I saw where happy villagers and merchants greeting me. However their was one strange being that I noticed all throughout my journey to the VillageChiefs office. It was a male and wore a gray hood over their head with yellow trimming. In fact their robe was much the same, gray body with yellow trimming. I tried to shake the strange figure from my mind and enjoy my journey through the village. As I looked around at the sites I suddenly realized that I had no clue to where the location of the Village Chiefs office was. “Excuse me, could you please tell me where the Village Chiefs office is located?” I asked one of the nearest merchants. “Your one of them outsiders from last night aren’t ya?” The merchants asked He had raggedy gray hair and one tooth (from what I could see) that was sticking in an awkward way from his bottom jaw. “Um, yes I am. Why do you ask?” “Lotsa City people have lotsa money.” The merchant replied with a wide, one toothed grin. “Well I suppose that is true.” I replied suddenly realizing that my need and want for money had greatly diminished ever since this journey began. “And lottsa money means ya can buy lottsa things.” he said as his grin widened. “I supposed so.” I just stared at his wide grin. “Whaddaya want me to buy?” I said annoyingly. “Just that you buy this one of a kind * said in exagerlatinly mystic voice*cryyystal baaaaall.*” He replied as he held up a clear orb shaped object. “ How much!” I said in an aggravated tone. “Just twenty pesos.” The merchant said as he watched me pull out a small bag of my money from the city. “Pesos?........” I replied confused “..........Never heard of it.” The merchant looked at the small bag of coins. “That should be enough.” He said as he quickly reached out and took the bag of money and tossing the Crystal orb thingie at me. I struggled to catch it as it rolled between in and out of my hands. “So!.....” I yelled waiting for directions to the Village Chiefs office. “Sooo?????...” The merchant replied in a confused manor. “Wheres the Village Chiefs office!!?” I yelled frantically. “Oh, that. Its right down there, the door with the sign that says ‘Village Chief’ over it.” He pointed to the sign just a few feet away. My jaw just about dropped when I realized how close I was and how stupid I was from buying this damn crystal! I was about to drop kick the stupid thing when I had my strange feeling of being watched again. I turned around and saw the same guy with the hood leaning against the wall and starring at me. “Oh crap, I better get inside.” I put the Crystal in my knapsack and headed over to the entrance to the Village Chiefs office. A gust of wind blew right before I opened the door and I could see the clouds turning gray over the mountains of garbage in the distance. “Hmmm, looks like a storm.” I said to myself then entered the building... |
hmmm.....
This is still pretty interesting Oddsville, are you planning to right some more? I have a feeling that the Crystal may be useful later, but maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, i hope to hear some more! |
