Oddworld Figures?

Has anyone heard wheather they have or will be making a series of Oddworld Collectable figures, I think this would be an awesome idea, and I would definatly buy them all.

mathew9r 04-19-2007 12:47 PM

dont have a clue sorry. but it would be a very good idea.

Jordan 04-19-2007 12:49 PM

There are some of Abe somewhere. But that was from an unofficial German site.

Director Phleg_47 04-19-2007 12:51 PM

Thats alright, I know, maybe Oddworld Inhabitants should consider making some

Jordan 04-19-2007 01:24 PM

Yup. In the future after Citizen Siege.

skillya_glowi 04-19-2007 03:54 PM

There are none as far as I know, except that there are a few German statues of Abe floating around somewhere. Those were unlicensed and quickly ceased production, though, so I imagine they'd be very hard to get your hands on.

It would be awesome if there were figurines, though. There's so little Oddworld Merchandise out there and whatever's left is so expensive (at least for a teenager), it's almost painful.

snuzi 04-19-2007 07:40 PM

I honestly hope there will be alot of merchandise available after Citizen Seige comes out. I've been dreaming of owning an Abe action figure ever since I was eight.

Cullen Heath 04-19-2007 07:53 PM

You know, Abe action figures do exist, but there are very few.
And there's also the Stranger and Abe sculptures. And then there's the Munch and Abe statues.

Reiji Neko Mitsukai 04-19-2007 09:34 PM

I'd like one of a paramite, myself. Although I do wonder what kinds of poses/expressions they would give the Abe figures. Like farting, chanting...

Jordan 04-19-2007 10:14 PM

If only we could get a glimpse of OWI's old workshop. I'm sure they had loads of production statues.

Xavier 04-20-2007 08:37 AM

I'd love some Oddworld or CS figures.
Especially if they are made by the one who makes the Spawn ones.

OddjobAbe 04-20-2007 09:04 AM

While all of you fantasize about owning Oddworld action figures, I am dreaming, then acting upon it! I have several sculptures of several characters, and a Paramite bot! I've finished bragging now.

I do hope that official merchandise will soon be released. As fun as it is listening to my Paramite ponder around making low-quality Paramite sounds, I would love to own some official merchandise.

Jordan 04-20-2007 10:32 AM

Oddjob, so that thing parades around your desk or something?

OddjobAbe 04-20-2007 10:37 AM

Yep. I always have it with me at work. The amount of patients that ask what it is  . Took hell of a long time making it, though.

Jordan 04-20-2007 10:46 AM

I can just imagine it. Can't you video it or something?

You lucky bastard, you. Out of the kindness of your heart, you should make me one too. I'll politely protest, but the eventually and reluctantly allow you to send it to me ;).

OddjobAbe 04-20-2007 10:49 AM

No. I don't have a video camera, as I can't afford one due to taxes, mortgage (on two houses) et cetera. I'd take a photo, but I don't have a digital camera, either.

Hehe, sorry Snuzi, we posted at the same time!
I would in fact make one for you, but firstly, that would cause problems with other people, and secondly, it cost hell of a lot of time and money making it.

That's why I was only joking ;). I would never ask such a thing of you, as it would not only be inappropriate, but rude as well. I imagine it must have been quite expensive and time consuming to build.

OddjobAbe 04-20-2007 11:05 AM

I am planning a Scrab, but so far I've gotten nowhere. I can't think of a way to build it in such a way that it stands up in support.

Xavier 04-20-2007 11:07 AM

Still want to see that thing, I'm sure you know someone who has a cam so you can show it to us. :p

OddjobAbe 04-20-2007 11:09 AM

I'll see if I can get a lend of a camera to try and show it to you.

If memory serves me right, I think your Mom has one. ;)

OddjobAbe 04-21-2007 09:35 AM

Correction - she did have one. She flogged it off because she didn't use it much. If I'd have thought on, I'd have asked her for it.

skillya_glowi 04-21-2007 11:14 AM

Pah. Borrow one from your friends. Come on, I wanna see the Paramite-bot-thing!
And the other stuff too.
I've tried my hand at sculpting a Scrab with modeling clay. The result slightly resembled a strangely shaped tree. So you see, I'm not as lucky as you...

moxco 04-21-2007 11:50 AM

Has anyone here got a munchcan? 'Cus I got oubidded on one on Ebay.

Zerox 04-21-2007 12:10 PM

I thought a set of action figures would be awesome. You could play around with Sligs and stuff. Who cares if it may be 'childish'? Who gives a smeg?

I wanna see the bot. You can't tell me that NO ONE you know has camera, scanner, or web cam of some sort?

OddjobAbe 04-21-2007 12:15 PM

I don't know anyone with a web-cam, if I was to try and put a 3-D robotic model in the scanner, it wouldn't appear to look right, and due to spending a lot of time at home doing things for work, I haven't seen my friends over at home for a while. If there is no way at all I can show you the real thing, I'll make a 3-D model on the computer that reacts and sounds similar. Believe you me, I'm as eager to get it up on here as probably some are to see it.

snuzi 04-21-2007 02:17 PM

Well, how about this then: buy a disposable camera, take pictures of it, develop 'em, scan 'em, and send 'em. That would work, right? :p

Chubfish 04-21-2007 02:57 PM

I would love to have a Scrab figurine, since it would go pretty well on my windowsill and if I get more I could play with them all. But a scrab one would do fine :)

Bullet Magnet 04-21-2007 03:43 PM

I once made a scrab using pipe cleaners as the skeleton, padding it out with cotton wool and then weaving the correctly coloured wool around that. It was poseable! The proportions were off in the end, but it was pretty good for a ten-year-old's work. I made a paramite skeleton for my younger brother to do, but his didn't turn out so well, but considering he was eight it was good. I've still got an unfinished flying slig somewhere.
