whatever happened to mullock?
After playing oddysee i presumed that he was dead but in exodus dripik is saying stuff like "if mullock ever comes back we are screwed!" does this mean that mullock isnt dead or does it mean that nowone knows he is dead?
I never played munches oddysee was there anything to do with him in that? is there a chance he will ever come back? |
I assume that no one really knows what happened to him- note the "if" in Dripik's words. He wouldn't say that if they knew he was dead.
However, one would think an investigation party would be sent out after he hadn't been heard from in a while... Of course, there's always the possibility that Molluck and the slig with him had actually survived the blast- his eyes were still glowing, last we saw!- and eventually regained consciousness later, possibly deserting the factory before the investigation pary arrived; hence his "unknown" status. |
how cool would that be if he came back for revenge!
|
That's a good idea... Mind if I bring this thread to dripik's attention? It's be a great idea for the RP!
|
You guys should search through the General Discussion archives there's a few older topics about Molluck, etc. that reveal he was originally slated to return in Munch's Oddysee along with Rupture Farms, he was also cut from content that would have shown that he was to be executed for treason by the Magog Cartel.
|
Still, I bet he'd be way too ashamed to show his face after he'd been struck by lightning and his franchise destroyed. It's a good chance he'd come back for revenge or something later though.
Wait what? He was executed? :fuzconf: |
man I really need to play munch, I have seen a few cutscenes and the whole thing seems a bit too....I dont know anyway i dont think ill ever get round to playing it (part of the reason is because i am still SOOO pissed that it was on the x box and not on the ps2, traitors)
I hear that strangers wrath had nothing to do with the story but its story was actuelly pretty good. |
Why are OWI traitors because it didn't get on the PS2? It would look like shit on the PS2 anyway. PS2 sucks...
Wasn't there a movie on the Oddworld DVD that stated that Molluck had been seen in Nolybab? |
This should be in Q&A.
Wheres Nolybab? |
I know I'm gonna sound like a noob, but why would Mullock return? They say that he was in hiding, because he was ashamed or whatever. But really, how could he have survived that electrocution? He looked like he was dead. I just think it's dumb, if he magically appeared again....plus the fetching rupturefarms building blew up!!!

ya I guess it would be more understandable if he was revived or something.
|
Maybe he was just shocked by the lightning. Like a Taser or something. Though the lightning bolt looked a bit much for that...
|
When he and Toast were electrocuted they were both knocked out. After their waking, Molluck went into hiding. In Munch's Oddysee he was supposed to have a trial with Queen Maggie, but that never made it into the game.
|
:
By the way, he did not get electrocuted, no one survives electrocution, because the definition of electrocution is to die by electricity. Thus, if you don't die, then it isn't electrocution, he was merely shocked. |
it wasnt really electricity was it? i thaught it was some sort of magic beam (who is queen maggie?) and the ps2 may suck but oddworld could have kept it on the ps2 as well as the x box instead of taking it away from us, thats what sucked!

It was OWI's original intent to put SW on both consoles but due to technical issues it was only released on Xbox.
|
Watch the AO ending again. There was no explosion. Abe shut down the power, and there was no workforce left to start it up again. Rupture Farms still stands.

The PS2 can't handle the graphics of MO and SW, simple as. |
Play FFX, Dragon Quest VIII, or God of War on PS2 then tell me MO and SW couldn't play on the PS2 because pf graphics.
|
Word. The PS2 should plenty be able to handle that sort of graphics. All the explosions in Ratchet and Clank and the like don't phase it at all.
What I'm wondering is what kinds of technical issues these were...many other games are on multiple consoles, so why was MO so particularly screwed? The switch to the Xbox seemed kinda random, no real explanation was given, and surely the PS2 controller would've been better anyway? Given the gamespeak control system for the first 2 games, looking at the MO ones and the MO ones seem somewhat worse, and not as indepth as the first ones, because the controller had those kind of limits. Otherwise, they'd have added more, silly ones, presumably, like in the original AO...if only you could still laugh on command in AE... |
The original vision of MO wouldn't be able to run on PS2 acording to OWI, so they switched to Xbox, but then they were pushed to be a launch title and had to rush the game. Finally the game came out but it wasn't the original vision. And I have to agree it could have been handled by the PS2.
For SW it's something different, they developped the game with the fact it was going to be Xbox exclusive in mind, as they had an exclusivity contract with Microsoft. Then Microsoft dumped them and they had to switch to EA, but EA they couldn't do the port because the game was totally scripted to pump 100% of the Xbox resources. |
:
Plus I remember Abe saying something In MO about every "mean place" he goes to it blows up. So that's probably why, and I just totally forgot. |

Even if the mudokon spirit power is similar to electricity; how many times has Abe been zapped by chant orbs and survived? Clearly zapping != death.
|
I think I read somewere that mullock is wanted and theres a reward to who ever finds him.
|
Maybe Sekto and Mullock get together and start a new company... Octi-Industries...

MoxCo, sarcasm really isn't your thing. Your attempts at being sarcastic, or funny for that matter, give me the douche chills. You realy should stop trying.
