He missed his second straight Baseball opening day. He says he was too busy but Opening Day is scheduled months ahead of time and all he did was two brief meetings yesterday. Busy my ass. He just realizes that he has sub 40 approval ratings and any stadium would be rocking with boos and jeers if he showed up. It happened to Cheney at a Nationals game and he's been too chickenshit to show up at sporting events after that, too.

I noticed that it became quite a custom here that certain politicians don't show up at national memorials if they don't feel like it. It's rather boring after a while: one party turns up, the others stay at home.
Boos and jeers are one thing. A politician here received a few eggs when he showed up somewhere.

At least he must have realised by now that he's not exactly popular around the place. I don't know how it's done over there, but I guess he's supposed to go to opening days and such. There's no possible reason to miss such things, especially not personal ones. Hiding in a closet never solved anything, did it?
