Sekto lives on! Right?
I LOVE Stranger's Wrath, and I would like to clear some things up...
* Sekto's still alive, right? He dumped the Old Steef's body and got himself into the water, and then escaped, 'cause he's some sort of octopus (octigi). And THAT's why he wanted to catch a new Steef Head, to take over HIS new and young body... Am I right? * Did anyone else notice that, when you have won the war on the icy land... (I forgot the name!), you go on in your one-Steef-boat and go through a long cave, which I think was the old place where the Grubb's lived. After a little time, there's a big rock in the cave with drawings on it. You can clearly see a Steef-drawing (4 legs, 2 arms, horns) and a Octigi-drawing (head+8 arms) and they're in some sort of whirlpool, coming together. Around that drawing are alot of drawings from Grubb's... So actually that rock tells how it happened... * What happens now? I guess stranger is the Grubb-leader from now on, but when his Steefness was discovered, the Grubb's stole his clothes, so they must still have them... Maybe they can give it back so Stranger can hunt down Sekto. Sekto must be starting up a new factory, Sekto Farms or something... How will the story end? I know Lorne stopped making games, but did anyone alrerady see something from him he made in the movie-industry, I mean a movie or something, something that doesn't have to do with Oddworld? What if it was all a lie, so he could work on the new Oddworld game non-stop... The sequel to Stranger's Wrath, out of nowhere... That would be a day! |

|
first point, I think you are right
second point, yep I noticed it too, I guess it's a warning for stranger third point, lorne is not working on a sequel, and there is non planned at all. they are working on citizen siege, and there is enough info about it to know it's not a joke |
I guess you're right, but I'll never stop dreaming of a sequel. Maybe, one day, he wakes up and realizes what he has left behind, all the fans and his entire fantasy world! Who knows...
And yes, I think Sekto can take over any body, but he definitely prefers the strong and fast Steef Heads... They rock! I don't think he would like to be on top of Abe's head... Also, did anyone notice athat all bad leaders in every Oddworld game are related to octopus-ike creatures? (I bet you have)... Let's look it up in my Oddworld book for a second (The Art Of Oddworld - The First 10 Years)... Ahh, here it is: "Oktigi are parasitic creatures feeding off of a well-dressed, highly professional host. Since it is not able to survive on its own for long, it must control the mind and body of its host." That's what the book says abbout Oktigi, and it also shows a picture with all the badies (except for the Vykkers, which are also octopus-like, but not from the Glukkon-family...). In the Glukkon family are: Glukkon's, Short-Armed Octigi, Long-armed Octigi, Gloktigi (SW also het Metal Gloktigi's at the end) and a Octigi on its host... Glukkon's also appear to have a Queen named Maggie... And some Kinto creatures are her servants... (If you don't know Maggie or Kinto, I really advise you to get that book, it's sooooo cool!) |
He wanted Stranger's head. As in, without the unnecessary weight attached to the neck. It would join his collection on the wall of his office.
|
When Stranger saw the Wanted-paper with a Steef Head on it, it didn't say Dead or Alive, but: Inquire at Bounty Store... So Stranger calls Sekto, and then Sekto says: "Better be fresh for 20 grand", which means Stranger needs to get him a young and alive Steef... Sekto probably dumps the old Steef's body, cause it's all rotting away...
I'm absolutely sure Sekto wants a new Steef body... |
You might be right. It does seem that Sekto just wanted another Steef head to mount on a wall in his office, but for all we know he might have wanted a new body to control. Perhaps the Old Steef's body just wasn't up to par anymore?
|
You can see that at the end, when the Old Steef is on the ground... He's close to being blind, and he doesn't have any hairs left. He's all white and looks sick... He was definitely getting old...
|
yep, time for a fresh one, that's how I see it too.
|
As you may know, Sekto can't live for a long tiem without a host... He might be feeding off of little Grubb's as we speak!
|
I doubt it. I think Sekto'd probably want to use a stronger creature as a host, so that he could defend himself if need be.
|
Ofcourse, but what if there weren't any? Grubb's are always fishing... Sekto probably became stuck in one of the fishnets and he had to take over a host in order to survive... He would have to use a weak host for a little time, until a stronger one came by...
|
But from what I've seen, Grubbs usually fish together, so how could he use one of them as a host with the other's watching? The others'd just end up removing him from the Grubb he latched on to, and probably end up attacking him afterwards. I don't think he'd be that stupid :p.

Oktigi are certainly adapted enough to swim around freely and easily, so what's to stop them getting food?
LOL he possesses one of the fish. |
What, you serious?
If you read back some earlier posts you'll read that Octigi can't live for a long time without a host. As you may know, Oddworld Inhabitants released a book with alot of cencept art designs for the games, and some info... It's all in the book... And yes, Grubb's do fish together mostly, but do you really think that, when Sekto takes over one Grubb, the others would remove him so easily? I bet Sekto would kill the other Grubb's, and then takes of to the forest to find a stronger host... The only reason why Sekto left his Old Steef's host is because he was trapped, caught by Stranger, and he HAD to escape... In order to take revenge... |
:
Are you making this stuff up? |
I think that Sekto takes over a Grunbb and then attacks the other grubb's, while he's a Grubb himself... He could knock-out the first grubb, catch the second Grubb in his net and drown the last Grubb-witness...
|
:
Think. In future. |
The Grubb's wouldn;t know what to do... When they catch Sekto in a net, the Grubb's think: "Oooh, nice treat!"... Then Sekto could strike, and the other Grubb's wouldn't what to do because if they hurt Sekto they might hurt their poor Grubb-friend.
Or, Sekto could play dead and wait until the Grubb that caught him is alone, so he could strike... But if Sekto waits too long he's gonna get roasted! |
No, they'd think "Oh no! Demon!". In case you haven't noticed, the Grubbs regard the ocitigi as evil beings, so I doubt they'd just ignore his species and start eating him. They'd either harm him severely or kill him, to prevent him from taking control of any of their bodies.
|
:)I think I read somewhere on the EA Strangers Wrath website about Sekto sucking the life out of others around him for youth or something.
|
How did Sekto take over the Old Stee'f's body? By surprising him! I don't think The Old Steef helped the Octigi to climb on his head, and then let him take over his body... Sekto MUST have surprised him, and he can also surprise the grubb's... Do Grubb's now about Sekto's species? I don't think so, because when Stranger defeated him, they only saw the Old Steef's body, not Sekto in the water...
Or, Sekto could take over another body... maybe a Gabbit? I bet Munch knows he's from the evil Glukkon-family tree, but what about his Gabbiar, those little growing-up Gabbit's? They don't know, and they'll try to play with Sekto until they realise he's evil, and then it's too late, for one of them... |
I think if Sekto took control of a Gabbit, many would know it was him.
|
:
And Sekto wouldn't take over Munch's body. Munch is located on a different part of Oddworld altogether. Plus, I don't even think that SW and MO share the same timeline. |
Actually, SW and MO take place at the same time, said Lorne.
My idea was that maybe Munch would have to face Sekto at some point in time. Sekto probably could take over an animal that seems to watch the migration of the Gabbits. I believe this since Munch probably is going to Ma Spa as we speak and races have watched the mating activity for quite some time, so Sekto is in luck. And perhaps he can try and capture Munch to regain his wealth. Just my thoughts. |
Oh, they do? Alright then, thanks for clearing that up :).
I think that if anything, Sekto'd go after Abe. Sure, it'd be easier to get to Munch, since he's usually in the water, but Munch isn't as dangerous as Abe can be. I mean, the most Munch can do is zap people :p. |
Snuzi, you're right, and as I explained before, there is a big drawing on a rock made my Grubb's, and it's somewhere in the cave after the battle on Last Legs...
I think the story goes on... how? Just keep an eye on my Oddworld Artwork! |
I thought, since abe etc live in a completly different area from sekto and stranger, that sekto would never meet abe or munch. When you think about it, its two completly different lifestyles and types of creatures where they live - its like you get different variations of fish and other creatures in certain parts of the world. Would you ever get a octigi like sekto come in contact with a mudokon?
