I have an idea....
 

Voice-acting has been an interesting way of bringing characters to life. So here's an idea....especially for the RP section of this website....What if we had a section where we could Rp but using our recorded voices for our own characters? For example, say someone has a Mudokon character, and he wants to walk to the grinders. Well, he/she could record their voice as their character on something (sound recorder) and then post it. Then they could write out their actions.

Another example is if a character has a weird voice, they can record their weird voice for that character.

It's just an idea and it might not happen, but what do you guys think?

This idea seems weird... But I like it! :p But people's voices tend to go high and freaky, and sometimes the lads don't want people to hear it.
But it's a great idea! ;)

Heh, I seriously need to try recording myself doing the voices of some of the Oddworld creatures sometime. It'd be interesting to see if I could actually pull it off :p.

We had a thread years ago in GD where people posted their impressions of OW creatures. We also had one in OT called "What do you sound like?". Feel free to make new versions, as long as the files are hosted remotely rather than uploaded as attachments.

Yes, I really know what you mean. When I heard myself talk I was breathless (I know everyone is, but I mean I was literally breathless) I thought I sounded very...very...odd. That's why I don't talk in my normal voice...I pretty much make up there accents that are totally funny sounding. When I get mah microphone (who knows when that'll be), I'll record all my voices. Ah, I should really stop rambling too.

ya, it could happen, but still I like the idea. Just don't worry about it, I wouldn't make fun of you or anything. and I hope you guys would do the same for me....lol And to als shall rise, i'm sorry you're so self-consious about your voice!

It would be weird, in a cool way. Its just you will have to be bothered recording your voice.

We definitely should start up (or revive) a thread about this. I think it'd be alot of fun to hear one another imitate Oddworld characters :p.

I've never tried to use Sound Recorder before, so this may sound a stupid question- Do you need a microphone plug-in to use Sound Recorder? As I don't have one.

I believe you do. How else would you be able to record your voice if ya didn't have a microphone?
