Squeek's Oddysee was announced, but OWI never got round to making it, it is unknown whether they'll make it or not, so we'll just hold on tight till the film's been released and something new is announced.
It's the same with Hand of Odd, but more was announced with that, they had a couple of pictures for it, and it made its own section in the Oddworld Artbook.

I'm not sure SO was announced, mentioned would be closer

skillya_glowi 02-01-2007 04:10 PM

Yea. Lorne just said it would be the third chapter in the quintology, not really that it would be coming anytime soon.

I read on an oddworld website that there were supposed to be games called Hand of Odd and Squeeks Oddysee, but I don't believe that they were released to the public, however, I also read that there were 2 games released for GB Color, in which the first one, Oddworld Adventures, you did the sme stuff as AO, but you started in Scrabania. In OA2, You started in Necrum and finished the game. They had bad graphics though.

Hand of Odd COULD be coming out, but whether it is still in development or when/if it will be released is unknown. I read that in it, you can either choose to be a leader of a Mudokon tribe and fight to free Oddworld of industry and clean the place up, or you can be a Glukkon executive and build industry with the Vykkers to earn money. As Abe's Oddysee, Abe's Exoddus and Munch's Oddysee were problem-solving games, and Stranger's Wrath was an action game, Hand of Odd is a strategy game, and the first game in the Oddworld series to play online.
I have been excited about this for a while. I wonder what happened to SligStorm?

I saw Oddworld Adventures at a TV convention?, and at Ninja Games.

OddjobAbe, welcome to the forums and stuff...
In future, please don't double post and use the Edit function, I know you're new, so I'm just telling ya! ;)
Squeek's Oddysee and Hand of Odd were planned as 2 more quintology titles, but never made it into production.
Sligstorm was cancelled, and was originally going to be packaged with Abe's Exoddus as a bonus game.
Oddworld adventures 1 and 2 are real games, and I have the second one, the graphics are very bad, but it's a GBC game, so it can't be helped. I had a lot of fun playing it though.

Short clarification: Hand of Odd was never intended as a quintology title. It was seperate to the main series, just like Stranger's Wrath was.

Wil 02-07-2007 05:45 PM

Indeed, it was the first of its own series, The Habitales. It was going to use the A.L.I.V.E. II engine to further explore the causality in Oddworld, and it won’t be in production now or in the foreseeable future.

SligStorm never even entered production. It was just an idea.

Don't worry, no more double posting for me - I was tired and clicked the first button that'd get me to reply straight away. Then I went to bed.

Its interesting I found this thread because Iwas looking for that one I made about HOO.

Slaveless 02-08-2007 11:13 AM

I would think that there is many games that OWI has released or meantioned on making a game out of it. There is certainly more of them, then actual games. Maybe it should be clarified that there is only 7 Oddworld related games; Abe's Oddysee, Abe's Exoddus, Munch's Oddysee, Stranger's Wrath, Oddworld Adventure I, Oddworld Adventure II, and Munch's Oddysee for the GBA. That is it.

So I am just curious about this: What was the SW game suppose to go in the series? If not the Oddworld Quintology, then what? And what kind of games was CS and The Brutal Balad of Fangus were suppose be? They set on Earth, just one with a twist?

Wil 02-08-2007 12:56 PM

Stranger’s Wrath takes place soon after Munch’s Oddysee. All four games so far have been chronological. Citizen Siege is set in Earth’s near future. The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot is set in a different world entirely.

Bullet Magnet 02-08-2007 01:29 PM

Wasn't it one where canine and feline creatures had both simultaneously evolved upright sentient species?

Wil 02-08-2007 06:49 PM

Yes. Maybe they didn’t evolve simultaneously, but they were definitely contemporaries.

Jordan 02-09-2007 11:58 AM

You what!? Fangus was set on another world!? I'm glad the thing was never made, it sounds crap... :p

Wil 02-10-2007 03:29 AM

It sounded wonderfully dark, gritty, and politically edgy to me. I can’t tell you how relieved we were to learn it wasn’t set on Oddworld. All of a sudden, the only negative thing we had to say about it—the unoddworldly character design—didn’t even apply.

Xavier 02-10-2007 04:51 AM

Heh Lorne told us about it and we were both like "where is the game, we want to play it!"
