Yes, yes, I know there are plenty of decent reasons why my freedom of speech should be repressed by men in dark suits because of this.

But still, I would like to know.

When do you think you can get Oddchat up and running, Alcar? Because all I'm-a gettin' when I try to use it is a gray screen with a piece of paper that has a big ol' X through it.

Again, I do know the following:

1. Oddchat has been dead forever

2. Nobody would probably use it

Here's an idea, make a ****ing chat room on an instant messaging service.

Well, that came to mind, but I realized that, of course, not everyone has the same messenger service.

Also, perhaps everyone could go to a huge chat-fest on it one day? I dunno.

You could always use a service like Trillian, GAIM, or GAJIM, which combine different instant messaging protocols. You can’t conference together people on different protocols, but you can chat with them all yourself.

Honestly, I agree with mitsur. I think I made a topic like this a while back.
Someone needs to do something about Oddchat. I think it would be loads of fun to be able to talk with the people here as a group, and as mitsur said, not everyone has the same mesenger. I would do something about it, if I could. And I know that my complaining isn't doing anything, besides hopefully motivating someone... I just think it would be a cool experience, seeing as I had never been on it before it shut down.

Oddchat is a distant memory now I remember all the funny/strange/fun/interesting stuff that used to go on in there, however now with anything related to Oddworld at a stand still it can't really serve it's original purpose.

How about aimlessly reading off all the old ideas about Oddworld as if they were new? The impermanence of the medium is preferable to the forum for noobish topics. And come on, we all want to cut loose occasionally, right?

Oddchat used to be amazing several years ago.

I agree, methinks Oddchat should be rescurrected (sp?). The one thing I hate about these forums is sitting online, waiting for something to happen, which it usually doesn't for at least 10 minutes. Talking in realtime would be much more lively.

'Tis true, not very many people would use it, seeing as even on the forums, there usually aren't more than 10 members at a time. But you need only two people to have a conversation, right?

In my experience, OddChat quickly degenerates into cybersex. But maybe that’s just down to chance.

I don't see the point when there's msn. It's quicker and you don't get major lag!

Then that's their choice! If they want to chat to members on here wouldn't i be easier to make an emaila ccount up on hotmail for it?

People here obviously don't know the difference between chat rooms and IM clients.

MSN is NOT a chat room. And thus has both advantages and disadvantages over IRC or whatever.

Oddchat is a waste of bandwidth and server space. Destroy it.

I'm sorry, but maybe you should find something else to do. Sitting waiting for a forum to update one post seems pretty sad.

Can we all quite ganging up on each other dam. If someone wants to do it they will. If know one does then inless OWI desides to fix it along with the new site it aint gonna happen for now.

Except that when oddchat did exist no one used it, and when people were on they still didn't talk. And when they did talk it was all RP or cybersex

I was think If we had moderators and could ban people then we could have it back. Also how much is it cause if it isn't much Ill just pay for it.

I also think that IM would be cool, but I am personally much more talkative on the forums. (just ask Ray)
And if all it amounts to is cybersex, well... :\ that's what rules and moderators are for.
