Forum history.

Okay Im new as you all know and Ive decided to make a thread about forum members and post. In the history of this forum has there ever been some one who had posted heaps exept one day they randomly disapeared, Or did they have a reason for it?
This is a thread where you can introduce to me some of the forum history.

Oh yeah I got a Quistion, Can you tell Whose posted the most. If not who do you think has?

Yes I have noticed the number of post thing in the top righ corner of your post.

snuzi 01-26-2007 09:36 PM

If you're so curious about all of this, why not just search the forums? It's much easier.

Bullet Magnet 01-26-2007 09:41 PM

Xavier has the most posts. Anyone who tells you otherwise is completely bonkers, or else purposefully misleading you. Knowing this forum, probably the former.

Try looking here.

Wil 01-27-2007 07:48 AM

With 13 103 posts as of this post, Xav has over twice as many posts as the next leading contendor (that’ll be me, with this post being my 5 651st). For more information on post counts—the only true measure of status—take a peek at the list of members.

Another good thread for getting a gist of OWF’s most memorable events is The Classics.

I had a look at Xav's old posts and I thought, he clawed his way from being new and not knowing what goes on in this forum, and look at him now, it's just amazing! ;)

Yes, he's climbed to the top of a fan forum for a now defunct video game series. Quite an achievment.

Quoted for truth.

I'd say the most significant event besides the releases of Munch's Oddysee and the influx of new members and then the Strangers Wrath, etc. was the large schism in the management and leadership 4 years ago which lead to many members leaving the forums, arguments that ensued,an almost complete staff change, and ownership, etc.

Hahaha, not to mention the other uproar due to a still active mod n' friends forum. They certainly deserve some credit for keeping it under wraps for so frikkin long. And let's not forget Codey.

Say, whatever happened to this guy called Kaimana?

Nate 01-28-2007 10:01 PM

Oh, I didn't know The Glass Asylum still had people posting there.

'Cos I don't know of any other breakaway forum that's still active...

used:) 01-28-2007 10:05 PM

I think it was a single by Dream Theater.

Please, it's too obvious that a separate forum full of you peoples exists one way or another.

Nate 01-28-2007 10:13 PM

Exists? Yes.
Active? I think the most recent post was someone talking about how their fingers smell funny.

used:) 01-28-2007 10:21 PM

I don't know whether you're referring to the Employee Lounge or something else. Either way I don't care and there in lies your victory. Apathy! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go leave my real lfie.

There was this guy called M.O.M. and he posted an insane amount and then all of a sudden stopped. I don't know if there was explained, or he was banned or something, but it always struck me as odd.

Donny, you're out of your element!

The Glass Asylum was the offshoot forum from the big forum 'split' years ago, ran by Sydney if I remember. Eitherway, I'm pretty sure it closed a year or two ago.

There are no active 'secret club' forums anymore, I thought we established that after the 'Wired incident'.
Secrets aren't fun if everybody knows them.

You are correct, and incorrect if you look at it from different points of view. All in all, over the years there have been five 'secret clubs'. At the moment there are 2 inactive/deleted clubs (TFOU, TOC) - and 3 active clubs (TEC, COU, TGP).

Whether or not you want to count the very first ideas of what TGA was to be, then you could say TGA was also meant to be a 'secret club' of sorts. But we all know that TGA didn't end up being an elitist OWF competitor, it became an Off-Topic-like forum.

Alcar...

I remember Kaimana. I thought he was a good bloke. He started the Oddworld Interactive Poll Team, which was a nice fun thing for the fans to take part in. It also led to the Oddlympics, which almost had a sequel. I don’t remember him telling us he was to leave; rumour has it his parents presented him with a choice of having either a mobile ’phone or Internet access. And we got ditched.

TGA still lives on, somewhere, and under a different name, so might count as alive and active. But it has absolutely nothing to do with OWF any more.

It’s TGF!

Does anyone have a link for the glass asylum? I seem to remember half of the members being all righteous and saying "Right, I'm off, I'm never coming back" and then, about six months later...

Heh heh, I remember that!

but what about the Leave Someone A Message thread??

Nate 02-02-2007 05:20 PM

I gave up on that when I realised that no-one ever caught on that I was talking about them. :p

Rex Tirano 02-03-2007 02:06 PM

Oooh. That makes it interesting. :p

As far as I can recall, the only person who switched to TGA exclusivity only to come crawling back quickly was me. We did have the pleasure of having Eddie (Dark Hood) return for a short while, and not long ago. As for a link, it does not exist any longer.

I realized it; I just didnay react to it.

True, you did once. But you missed all the other times...

I don't like TGF. It's nothing like I imagined upon its conception, the name sums it up, its a farce of what we intended. And we continue to piss on its corpse, I think a rebirth is needed.

Maybe you guys should stop beating that dead horse.

!!!!<3<3<3!!<3

That's like, the first time I've ever heard anyone besides my best friend quote The Big L. Now I remember why I love you so much.

In regards to forum history, there's only one thing that matters. I used to be important. Part of the nobility, an aristocrat. I once upon a time had power and relevancy (sort of). But now that's all in the past. Long gone. I am but a shell of my former self. Someone please kill me before I depress myself further and take care of the job myself.

Facsimile 02-10-2007 06:49 PM
