Scrabs and Swans: A Glukon's Ordeal

This story just popped into my head at school. I can only guess that it is a combination of all the things I've heard, read, played, and seen during the day. (I know that the title sounds boring, but it was the only thing I could think of.)

I was walking in a temple. The stone floor felt cold against my hands. As I passed a window, I looked out at the trackless wasteland around the temple. In the distance, I saw a herd of Scrabs marching proudly, raising their heads high. I only knew Scrabs from pictures and movies, though. I had never actually seen one. It got considerably darker as I continued. Then, I walked into a torch-lit area. A creature that I had never seen before was standing there. It had a build similar to a Mudokon's, but its body was muscular, and it had orange fur that was streaked with black. It had a long tail that was slowly twitching from side to side. As it slowly approached me, an older Glukkon stepped in from out of nowhere and said, "Petela! Petela! Petela, pay attention!"

That's it for now. What do you think?

Okay, here's the next chapter. *looks down at Twyla* Get back to the RPGs!

I looked up. The entire class was laughing at me. Every Glukkon in the room was gasping for air; they were laughing so hard. The teacher was glaring at me angrily. She was holding several train tickets. "Petela, if you find my feminine history lesson that boring, then you might want to study native Mudokon heiroglyphics instead." Ugh. I hate history class. "No, no. I'll listen." "Good," she replied. "Now, where were we? Oh, yes. Over three centuries ago, a group of extremely diverse creatures that called themselves "dragons" appeared. A few members of this species had very magical abilities. They changed our original reproductive system to that of something they called "mammals", thus introducing females as a mainstream part of socie-" the bell rang, cutting her off. As I left the classroom, a male Glukkon walked up to me. "Hey, Petela," he said casually. After swallowing the lump that had appeared in my throat, and wondered if I was sweating, I said, "Oh, hi, Sharkey." Just then, I reached my next class, Wildlife Education. This was the only class I liked. As soon as the tardy bell rang, the teacher announced, "Today we are going to study Scrabs up close." There were mixed reactions of surprise, excitement, and fear. "Don't worry, there will be Sligs guarding, and the Scrab will be in a cage." There were several sighs of relief. Two armored Sligs rolled in a cage containing a Scrab. I hadn't expected this. To me, the Scrab appeared beautiful yet strong, graceful yet powerful. More than anything, even more so than if Sharkey would ask me out, I wondered what it was like for the Scrab. I then heard a voice that sounded as gentle as a purr say, "You wish to be a Scrab, do you not?" I turned to see the creature from my dream hovering above me. What scared me was that no one else seemed to see it.

Well, that's it for now. What do you think?

Here's the next chapter.

I looked back at the Scrab, then turned back to the creature. It was gone. I continued taking notes and thought nothing else of it. I had a little headache toward the end of the day, but I ignored it. As I was walking home, a group of Sligs walked by. One of them glanced at me and started screaming. The others looked, and they started screaming, too. I felt a little irritated by the screaming. It didn't occur to me that I should be alarmed, rather than irritated. Finally, the irritation was too much, but instead of running home, I ran for a forest. As I saw a low branch, I realized that I wasn't controlling myself. My second realization was that my brain lobe wouldn't clear that branch. I couldn't stop! I closed my eyes and braced for impact. I felt a breeze and opened my eyes. I was fine. Then, I looked down. I was no longer a Glukkon. I was a Scrab!

Is this good? Just let me know if the plot starts to destabilize. (fall apart)
