Games that make you want to buy the console

The title explains it all. What games make you want to buy it's console? You can include any game (including upcoming ones) and any console (even the retro ones, just to add a bit of comedy to this)

Red Steel and Super Smash Bros. Brawl has made me pretty much obsessed with buying the Wii. When Silent Hill 5 comes out, I'll have to get a 360.
I also need a PSP for Silent Hill 0rigins, which comes out next Christmas.

Guys who want Dead Rising: Just get the demo, it's not worth it.

As for me, nothing really. Games just suck now. :D

Bullet Magnet 12-11-2006 02:49 PM

PC
Spore
Team Fortress
Dawn of War: Dark Crusade
Portal

XBox 360
Halo 3
Gears of War
Portal

I don't know of many games on any others.

Oh please, the demo is what sucks. If you go into a certain part of the mall, it restarts. The game is much more fun, and it is much more difficult.

I liked it quite a lot, except that you seem to go on delievery quests a bit to much. Who knew that a combination of random stuff is good enough for a makeshift lab?

It never gets old jumping into infnity mode and going nuts on everyone, though. So far my highest zombie count is about 10k.

snuzi 12-11-2006 03:23 PM

That game really takes care of stress too. If your ticked, all ya have to do is turn the game on and slaughter a couple hundred zombies. Afterwards, you'll feel great! :D

Red Steel is a decent game, and uses the controller relatively well, but it didn't really impress me much when I played on my cousin's Wii. According to him, Call of Duty 3 works a lot better on the system. I'd definitely rent RS before committing a sizable portion of money.

G.A.Pster 12-11-2006 10:48 PM

The 360

Oblivion
Mass Effect
The city of metronome

Jordan 12-11-2006 10:58 PM

PSP: Yes PSP, for the remake of Breath of Fire 3, that's all I want it for.
Xbox 360: Fable 2.
PS2: Final Fantasy XII, but my sister has one!
DS: New Super Mario, Yoshi's Island DS, Animal Crossing yada yada

Doesn't warrant the pricetag. If anything, borrow it off a friend. Too monotonous for me. But the legions of zombiebrained fans could mow me down, so I guess I'm not safe. :D

If you have to kill 100's of zombies to relieve stress, might I suggest... situps? Possibley a cupcake?

Violence helps relieve my stress as well as my anger more than anything else. I don't know why, violent acts in games are just much more fun that way.

Arxryl 12-12-2006 03:20 PM

I don't know.... thinking really hard about some kind of strategy game allows me to relieve stress.

And another game that'd make me want to get the Wii is the Super Mario: universe game.

And everyone thinks Jack Thompson is completely wrong.

Same here. Playing The SIMS helps relieve the most stress, in my opinion, since you get to help make the lives of your chosen family better and better. It brings a smile to my face everytime I play :)

Hey if people couldn’t vent their frustrations in games it might just spill into the streets instead. ;)

snuzi 12-12-2006 06:53 PM

Exactly. You have to get your frustrations out somehow. :p

Leto 12-12-2006 08:28 PM

There are ways other than pretending to kill boys and girls. Playing an instrument for example. Although you don't think it, influence is spread. As seen: I guarentee 99.9% of emos wouldn't cut themselves if they didn't hear others doing it, as it is a condition, not an emotion statement. Don't try that 'but we're not emo, we're people' crap, it's called an example.

If one had no influence as such, it would be harder to ascertain negative thoughts portrayed in most media. I'm not saying you'll all go kill people, but I'm just saying some of you are stupid enough to do so.

So, you know, go shoot people. :D

Like most people with Xlive know, nothing is quite as stress-releaving as owning that 11-year old little bitch in Halo 2 for saying the kind of trash talk about you that could get him grounded for a month if his parents heard it.

And then doing it again, and again, and again....

Strike Witch 12-13-2006 12:21 AM

Agreed.

Violence is fun, as long its not actually hurting you, or someone close, meaning it still hurts you.

And stress-balls are bloody annoying, and sit-ups are boring. at least with zombies, you can kill 'em with a lawnmower.

I agree. It's fun to just take out your frustrations on something else that can't feel it. It's a good thing to do too, so that you don't bottle up all your anger and frustration and then release it at an inappropriate time.

Thanks for proving my point. :'D
