YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF LOSERS!

Or at least that's the way you're coming across.

May I propose a moratorium on people begging new members to stay? If they decide that OWF is not to their liking they'll move on irrespective of what you think. But if they're searching for a healthy forum populated by non-pathetic individuals then they'll be turned off by the pleading.

Mutual Friend 12-05-2006 07:42 PM

Get you, tiger.

Huh someone called?

YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF LOSERS!

I know that already... :(

Bullet Magnet 12-06-2006 08:39 AM

Nate's leaving? Noooooooo!

Please stay Mister_woof!

Arxryl 12-06-2006 01:25 PM

You've got a good point Nate. I'll stop beggin' people to stay... (come to think of it, it does sound pretty pathetic...)

and the part about me being a loser... yeah. that's also true. :)

Mutual Friend 12-06-2006 01:37 PM

Don't let this guy shout you down. Honestly.

I think people begging the new 'uns to stay is pretty desperate stuff (though I haven't seen that much of it, though), but I find this thread far more pathetic.

Can we all just start threads proclaiming EVERYBODY to be losers, or idiots, or whatever now if a few display behaviour we don't like? I'm assuming so since this thread has yet to be closed...

 (again)

skillya_glowi 12-06-2006 06:47 PM

Just as long as at least two people stay we're okay.

Well... no. Now that there is one 'constructive criticism' thread, you'll have to add your abusive posts to this one. Any new threads would be considered spam and would result in WARNINGS - especially if I think you're plagiarising me.:p

Al the Vykker 12-07-2006 03:12 PM

The best way to put it in my opinion is simply this: people come and go in life.

Why, you say that as if it's a joke.

This thread needs to be closed immediately, and the thread starter maybe given a formal warning, or at the very least a word in his ear.

Pathetic stuff. But he knows that now, hence this 'playing-down' thing.

Happy Birthday Peter!

Ooh, a fight between Nate and Mutual Friend!

Statikk HDM 12-08-2006 05:49 AM

So my plan to PM noobs with "Gabba gabba gabba hey! One of...us One of...us" wasn't as brilliant as first thought?

Arxryl 12-08-2006 01:33 PM

No I don't think so... kinda like me popping up at their house and threatening them with various forms of soap...

I think we got the wrong idea here.

Mutual Friend 12-08-2006 02:48 PM

The thing is, I'm not disagreeing with him. For people to desperately beg new members to stay is incredibly loser-ish (even though I've yet to see something truly cringe-worthy in this regard).

But the arrogance in which this has been done, starting a whole new thread (one that isn't actually allowed), calling everybody losers (implying that, of course, he is the one who isn't and has the clarity to tell us How. It. Is.) is utterly pathetic. And, honestly, simply comes across as bullying when you've got someone like Arxryl coming along and softly agreeing with this ridiculous rant. I'd feel more than a little ashamed of myself, if I were in Nate's shoes.

I’ve now sent three PMs to a couple of moderators about this thread with no reply (which maybe because they’re simply busy, doubt it). If I am to be ignored, I’d adore to have the official stance posted here on what for me is a clear cut instance of a thread that needs to be closed.

For your information, I've been unbelievably busy in the past week or so because of final projects I've had to do for college. Of course, none of that really matters, because I totally could have taken a few seconds out of my day to close it.

I kept this thread open because everything on this forum has been dreadfully boring lately, and this particular rant was bringing me great joy.

But then MF had to ruin it. No fun.

There is always the option of private messaging myself.

Okay... I still can't quite believe that you're serious here.

Read my first post. Excluding the rather sarcastic title, point out one word or phrase that can be construed as arrogant, ridiculous or even rantish. I did *not* in fact call everyone losers - I pointed out in my first sentence that they were coming across that way to newcomers. I fail to see how this is bullying either.

As for whether this thread is allowed, I can't see why it is not. I would have preferred to say this in Majic's "Niceness is a Good Thing" thread but seeing as that is closed, I had no choice but to start a new one to get my point across.

Either way, I want to thank Alcar for reopening this thread so I can have right of reply. As for you, MF, if you want to continue this, might I suggest PMs?
