Looks awesome and I don't care that this was just CGI blended with live action elements, it served its purpose to pump me up for the game. I hope I got into the beta. Looks like we might also get a glimpse into John's (Master Chief) child hood like in the novels.

Yeah! :) His name was John and his Spartan designation well revealed in Halo 2 as well for those who didn't read the books was Spartan 117. If you have any interest in Halo I highly recommend reading the novles especially the first book The Fall of Reach by Eric Nylund, which is the prequel to Halo chronicling John's life from 6 years old all the way to the first level of Halo the game. Book two is written by a different author William C. Dietz and is called the Flood. The book is a novelization of the first game and fills in a lot of gaps as well as furthering storylines from Fall of Reach, not the best of the series of course but worth the read as well. First Strike returns to Author Eric Nylund and I've read a few chapters it leads from the aftermath of Halo to Halo 2. Finally, the fourth book Ghosts of Onyx is also written by Nylund and was just released last month and from the reviews as well as people I've talked to said its one of the best.

I never knew there were any books on halo either! I'll have to look out for those, since they sound quite interessting!
I am quite a big fan on halo, I loved the first one, though I think towards the end there was too much of the flood, but it was still brilliant. And the second one was pretty good too :) (-It was really good that you got to be an elite). Can't wait till the thrid one comes out!

As much as I love the books, Gears of War was definately the right choice mitsur hands down.

Yeah... it makes you wonder what the actual gameplay/storyline for Halo 3 will be. If the trailer reflects somewhat what the game is, then I think we may be in for a treat.
