What the hell is a mii?

I guess it's like the Nintendo version of the X-box gamer card.

Nope, it's a little avatar person for a person's Wii. You can put them on your WiiMote and take em to your friend's Wii so that your Mii will be on their Wii, mingling with other Mii's.

But... What does it do?

Absolutely nothing.

Actually, I'm not sure... I don't actually have a Wii yet.

But I do know you can play as them in WiiSports.

a mii is a 3d charicature of yourself that you make on The Nintedo Wii on the Mii channel. Mii=Me. They are used in various games, including Wii sports, Wii motor sports, and Wii music.

No...it's nothing like it...it doesn't have nearly as many functions. you can only send messages to one at a time. All it really is an email system on your wii.

you see, Your wii has it's own email address...which is translated from wii to wii as a number. so, you can add other wiis with their number. or you can add email addresses, or even cell phones (once you find out your cell phones email address)

but you can also send Mii's to other Wii's...

Well, obviously. I was merely referring to the fact that almost all the forums I look at have a thread where people are sharing their Wiimii's with complete strangers for the sole purpose of having as many as possible.

I fail to see the point of having a WiiMii for someone who you have no interest in communicating with. (I'm not talking about everyone in this thread. But I would not share my code with anyone I wasn't friends with, either in person or through MSN/AIM)

My Wii'll be coming on a week today, Britain gets everything later than the other countries! I'm gonna open it on christmas though, it's pretty traditional... I'll be posting my Mii code on christmas day probably.

True, true...but it's because we want to play the online games when they come out...and how else then prepare by getting alot of people on your buddy list so when the online games come out. You don't need to go through the trouble of adding them since they're already added

I'd give out my friend code except what's the point? It's not like I can talk to any of you over Nintendo's connection. I would just be another faceless, mute opponent. Defeats the purpose.
