Saddam A Go-Go

He's gonna be hanged. All i can say is: OWNED. |
The BBC article here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/mid...st/6117910.stm
He's gunna be executiOWNED! |
They'll make a martyr out of him.
They have enough "martyrs", one more can't hurt.
The thing that pisses me off about the whole thing is that it took years to convict him. I'm all for the American Criminal justice system(whatever pitiful shreds of it still remain that is) but this is a perfect case for my No ****ing Shit Execution clause. If its really obvious that the person committed some truly heinous crimes put two to the back of the charged person's head and get on to some cases that are not so ****ing obvious. Your average murder trial wouldn't apply but someone like a notorious confessed serial killer or brutal dictator should be offed immediately. |
This has put a smile on my face :D
I'm glad that someone's doing something about it, but hanging? I thought we abandoned that back after the american civil war.
Maybe we should just shoot him in the head or something. with rockets... and cremate him with a flame thrower. But I can see where someone would get all offended by this and go out and do something really stupid. |
Bush is going to interrupt the football games on Fox and CBS. He always interrupts things I like. F you, Mr. President. F you in the pants!
:
this is inhumane, they should at least give him the decency to shoot him instead. like he requested.
Did he answer to any of the wishes of the people he ordered to be executed?
I think he should've been left rotting in some old moldy cell, for the rest of his life. |
Hnaging is rather old-fashioned, but still. Saddam should be killed. However, (PLEASE NOTE: In no way shape or form do I defend saddam or his actions), when he ruled Iraq it was a better off country in some ways- there was less crime. I do not defend him however- he committed terror attacks on the USA, killing thousands of innocents, he wiped out a whole race of people in Asia, and he caused terrorist attacks all round the world. I simply say Iraq was better off in some (not all) ways with him, but once he's dead, the general world will be better off. I approve of his killing,

I think the fairest thing to do would be to hang Bush alongside him. I doubt you'd be able to tell them apart, each has the look and demeanour one gets from killing thousands.
Not quite sure how I feel about this. I don't really believe in justice through death. It's legalised murder. Prison is the better choice. Alcar... |
Alcar. Please don't compare Bush to Saddam, please. If you don't live in this country, Then you don't understand.
Why not? Both have started illegal wars, both have mocked the ideas and laws their nations were founded on with their actions, both had torture rooms. Both have killed hundreds of thousands of civilians. If at least 1 branch of Congress is not won by the Democrats there should be a Mexico style revolution in the streets.
But ONE has a moustache. And as we learnt from Hitler and Stalin. That MEANS evil.
Chairman Mao was the exception... |
You mean, you've grown a moustache?
Oh yes, and John Kerry didn't support the war either. Oh yes, and neither did most Democratic politicians. Oh yes, and moral equivilationism will make us win this war. Sure worked in 1938. Oh yes, and IraqBodyCount is a totally reliable source of information. Oh yes, and Bush is always responsible for what some guy in Iraq did.
The funny thing is, I as a conservative oppose this war. Saddam was a comparatively secular force in the Middle East. He had no WMD's. Iran should of been our focus. Nuclear armed Islamic theocracy. Oh boy. |
Wrong. Look at the votes for the war resolution, unanimous in the Senate and passed overwhelmingly in the House. And lets not forget the military's massive money requests, every one of which was passed by a majority and approved of by the President. I didn't "support" the idea of invasion because anybody with half a ****ing brain and no political stake in a successful invasion and occupation realized that the reasons for the war were suspect and that it. simply. wouldn't. work.
But you don't have to take my word for it! http://i.cnn.net/cnn/2003/EDUCATION/...rainbow.ap.jpg http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/....ap/index.html |
I was being sarcastic.
:
I think I love that man. |
I apologize for the act of war that was using Levar Burton.
Like alot of others I think that the hanging is pointless and barbaric, he is a terrible man and should pay for his actions [but like Alcar] I think his sentence should be a life in prison.

Bah... I doubt I'm making any sense.... - Rexy |
I agree. I can't justify the death penalty. As much as the world would be a better place without him, I thought out my principles a while ago, and I stick to them.
No, there must be consequences for perverting justice and slaughter. The consequence should be two bullets to the back of the head, no funeral.
But then his suffering will be ended immediately. Is that fair? How long did the Iraqi people have to suffer under him? And instant death is going to make up for that, is it?
Death for death. Torture isn't necessary but punishment and deterrent of crime must be carried out. Normally I'm against the death penalty, at least in normal criminal trials because it ****s up too easily. But this is Saddam Hussein. Cap him.
It costs a lot of money to keep a man in prison for his entire life. I'm not fond of the death penalty either. I'm just saying.
:
For me it comes down to the moral highground. How are we better than him if we exact his own upon him? "Death for death" and all that doesn't click with me. It's such a knee-jerk and childish reaction that we should be above by now. :
