Anyone have any sprite rips from the original games?

AO and AE, I mean.

Rips from the game only please, NO MANUAL RIPS.

Would be greatly appreciated for Random Oddworld Adventures(see sig). Thanks in advance.

(If you can't get whole animations, just single sprites are fine.)

My advice is, if you have the game on PC, try print screening. If you can download a tool or PS1 emulator and ROM, you may be able to get rid of background layers even, so you don't have to get rid of it yourself.

I have been printscreening but it's freaking annoying, so that's why I was wondering if anyone else had any they had done for whatever reason.

I don't think so. Otherwise I reckon I'd've seen them up around the internet.
You could try getting some from the animations on the official 10 years oddworld site. But they might be a bit small. At least it's a black only background, anyway.

Thanks, I'll check that out.

Hm, there aren't any programs which can cut out the background (if you already have a pic of it without the objects you want to capture, I mean), are there?

Nope, I don't have any. By manual rips, do you mean custom sprites? If not then I've got a few custom made Oddworld sprites. They are pretty poor quality in terms of visual detail (single/block colours, totally 2D), but they do the job. ;)

By manual rips, I meant taken from the game manuals.

Custom are definately out of the question for the general game, although if you ever decide to make some custom levels for it, there is support for custom sprites and sounds.

How detailed would the levels need to be? Custom sounds shouldn't be too hard, it's just the detail? I used to make loads of sprite edits but then couldn't be bothered keepnig it up. How detailed would the levels need to be visually and in terms of graphics quality? Equal to the real-game backgrounds?

People can create their own backgrounds and sprites to use in their own levels, as high or as low quality as they want. I just want the default sprites ripped(don't need to be animated...) for defaults.

I have some sprties form the game that are supposed to be part of the background. I need to get around to cutting them out of the multishaded black outline and such, but I think the ones I have are going to work pretty good. (yes they are the one's form the Art of Oddworld book, just to let you know.)
