A Slig's conversation
Figured it was about time to expose this track to some diehard Oddworld fans.
The entire track was synthesized using only the initial vocal phrase, with mostly phase vocoding and frequency isolation techniques. And it contains my own ode to Odd: http://lezser.com/SiteData/audio/non_lectorLEZSER.mp3 |
Wow, pretty cool. But what exactly is it?
|
It's a DSP (Digital Signal Processing) Sound Byte Portfolio Piece. I synthesized the whole piece out of that initial vocal phrase "welcome non reader." As in, the only sound that I used for the whole track was that initial phrase. Which I contorted into all the sounds in the composition, using mostly phase vocoding and frequency isolation.
Does that answer your question? Did you hear the Slig and Slog? |
It doesn't work for me. Nothing ever works for me on this site. The custom games don't work, this doesn't, soundtrack downloads don't.
|
you could try pasting the link into your browser ? or save target as ? or at the very least you could go to my homepage by pasting:
www.lezser.com and download Non_Lector from there. hope that helps |
Wow! Sligs!
|
I'm not entirely sure what it was that I heard.
|
it isnt working for me niether where your sugestions. . . . . .
|
intresting. great work
|
I don't know how this is for others, but I am not hearing any Slig's at all...
How far into the track are they? |
You could: Right click - Save as or Save target as
or if that doesn't work, bypass this site all together By pasting my website into your browser: www.lezser.com that's: lezser.com than scroll down untill you read: NonLector (8:31) 11.7MB and then: Right click - Save as or Save target as and save the mp3 to your computer, and play it with whatever program you prefer I cant see any reason why that wouldn't work. |
Where the Slig is
Truth be told a Slig's conversation starts at about 3 minutes in (or after the ambient part). But the real moment of reference starts a little before 6 minutes. You should hear grunts and honks then finally a "get 'em!" and a Slog barking.
Now doesnt that take all the fun out of it? |
I ain't hearing nothing but weird noises all through.
|
sorry to hear that.
Thanks to all those who got the link to work, enjoyed the track and heard the Slig's conversation. |
Oh, I love it, I am just not able to make out the Sligs. I really do love what you have done, though.;)
PS-(Check your PM's man.) |
