Sony Lost Me...
 

I already have an Xbox 360 and was planning to get a Wii and a PS3, once they had been out for a little. I was on another forum when I came across this link http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/19/s...hus-costs-700/ Sony is really getting on my nerves after reading this. Seems like they know that they could loose some people to the 360 come November 17. They call it a "fact" sheet when in fact only one of them may be right... Now I have decided that I will only get a Wii in November, Sony has lost me. Its not just that they posted it all over on the net they may want people selling video game systems to use it. Your thoughts....:fuzconf:

I wouldn't say that they've lost me as they never had me so I can honestly say that this is the funniest bit of corporate backstabbing I've ever seen. They must really be getting desperate to resort to these measures, when they must have known that any clown with an internet connection could prove them wrong.

Perhaps their target audience was their existing fanboys who could be drifting away under the onslaught of ineffectualness, who have now been provided with ammunition in the war against 360-fans. Of course, that ammunition consists of pieces of cardboard with the word "BANG" written on them in big, red letters, but it's better than nothing.

well, that is pretty low...they were comparing the core system of the 360? that's loow, man. and they were comparing that to their "lower" price of the 2...low man...low

I think this can be construed as a sign of fear. Ya fucked up Sony. You made a console that costs too much to make with not enough fun shit to go along with it. Start sweating.

Good luck finding the cheapo versions of the PS3 this season. They are being produced and distributed far less than the "big boy" version. Fact of the matter is its going to be 600 bucks to get a PS3.
I hope this blu-ray shit is Betamax all over again for Sony.

I don't judge companies by their tactics, but their product, so this doesn't really matter to me.

Not that I want any more consoles.

I'm thinking more about Sony's first launch being riddled with defective product than the delays.

In that fact sheet, they used, the COre version. Which needs the upgrades to compete. And is the more expensive in the end. So why didn't Sony use the Premium version? With all the upgrades added, it's the cheapest of the two.

Betamax Video Cassette was the direct competator of the VHS Video Cassette. Unfortunately for the Betamax, VHS became the leading brand.

So now we have that same thing happening now, but now it's Sonys Blu-Ray vs Microsofts (and the rest of the companies) HD-DVD.

Here is another reason they lost me:
Their commercials are creepy and piss me off majorly. These commercials better not ruin the NBA like those Mellencamp commercials did. About as bad as those Spite ones all playoffs long. Those are terrble.

No, what I meant was that Microsoft is not one of the controlling forces behing the HD-DVD and, Xbox notwithstanding, is not playing sides. Both media will be supported by Windows Vista.

(I was talking about the Xbox 360, actually, I mean, they're bringing out an HD-DVD player :P)
