He broke the rule of politics
There is a rule in American politics that when violated will make a politician lose pretty much by default. Rule of American politics: Anything, anything can be fought off, except for a live boy or a dead girl.
Mark Foley, a Congressman from Florida, has resigned after it was revealed that he was propositioning young boys through e-mails. Oops. While not illegal in all states, and the age of consent in where the incidents may have occurred is 16, Mark Foley stands no chance of winning anything politically ever again. He could have killed a puppy on C-SPAN with a straight razor and he would have been better off. I'm happy, because this guy was a douchebag always prattling on about "morals" and "family values". The less of those in government the better. |
I'm trying to think of one "family values" politician who hasn't been found sleeping around. Maybe it's just that all politicians do it but the media only reveal them when it's ironic.

Oh man, the atrocities these people commit are incredible. Most of them being "conservatives".

Oh yeah, when I was in Florida there was an advert on TV about him wanting to create a Kid's AFterschool club and you could be his possé [or something along the lines of].
I just thought he was a jerk. No kid in their right mind would join something so sad. It doesn't suprise me, he propositioned young boys through email and tried to create an army of adolesents into being his dude and dudettes. The guy needed to be stopped. - Rexy |
Yet another fundie moron revealed as a mere pot calling the kettle black. Yawn.

They released parts of the IM conversation on CNN. Hilarious.
Senator Guy: what are you wearing? Confused Boy: a tshirt and jeans Senator Guy: i SURE WOULD like to slip those off you Senator Guy: do i make you horny? Confused Boy: a little Senator Guy: cool. Except, you know, I changed the names because I couldn't remember the real ones. |
Eeeeeeeeeeeew! Even though, IMO, 16 year olds should have the right to pursue carnal relations, and although I think that it is ageist and absurd to label anyone over 12 a child, how old is this guy? 52? Eeech.

I don't think its that boring, especially considering that two GOP peoplw, one of which was the Majority Whip, Dennis Hastert, knew about the cyber sex and propositiong for months. This is what happens when you're too repressed.
