Robert D Brown's Site
Please forgive me if someone has already mentioned Robert's site before. I didn't know it existed until today, and there is quite a selection of concept art in his gallery. Thought other Oddworld Forum members might enjoy taking a look if they haven't already.
My favourite is Industrial Fashion. :) |
Wow, that's really great. There's some spectactular stuff in there. Most are areas that we've seen before (but from different angles) but some are concept areas.
And, silly him, he's even dropped a hint about the movie. One wonders if those city designs are from the movie also. |
Great, I love it! Awesome find.

Reading further: The links page has links to websites of several other former OWI staff. Nothing revolutionarily new though.
In the necrum photo, he suggest that anyone who like that style should check out Beksinski as inspiration. Some amazing stuff in there |

Coolest video! I'd never seend this, until now. |
hmmmm normally we don't put ex-oddworlders sites on this forums...
Rob didn't give me permission to post those pictures on togg yet, I had to wait two years, so I have another year left to wait. actually "chance" is already on TOL, you just don't know the adress yet :p |
We don't put ex-oddworlders sites on this forum? I've seen several!?
And Chance? I'm assuming you don't mean whom I think you mean. |
:
Chance is the name of the video that I posted 3 posts up. And Nate, I'm sure that the sites of the Inhabitants, that you have seen were not ex at the time that they were posted, but are ex-Inhabitants now. |
ndw it was a request from OWI themself some time ago, I'm not sure what they are thinking now... I think it was to avoid the Oddworlders to get plenty of mails from the fans (or even press) wanting to know what they were working on, I'm still uncomfortable with this problem.
I have to admit I asked their permission to have most of their content on my site :p and when my video database will be shown, there will be some things on it you may have seen before (I was hoping for an exclu, but once again someone posted it here before :)) |
Ah, okay. I didn't know.

:
None-the-less, his concept work is great. @Nate — I checked out Beksinski's work too, good source of inspiration |
I'm puzzled, should we deleted this or not?
|
Of course not. The man has a WEBSITE. Which means that he intends for these things to be SEEN.

I enjoyed it. Good find! |

In theory, if someone set up a stall in a shopping mall, put out a bunch of merchandise and then told everyone who passed not to look at it I would punch that someone in the face. Privacy is fine but if you make something public and then whine about it not being private you are a stupidface.
|
If I owned a shop in a mall that kept getting visited by thieves and harassers, I might be tempted to ask such people to stop frequenting, and the surrounding shopkeeps would probably take similar action.
|
But you are talking about not letting ANYONE into the store in which case there is no reason to have a store. I guess what I'm saying is that maybe we should all remove OI's collective penis from our mouth's and let the new kid post a website in peace. Seeing as how there isn't any offensive content on it, I don't see a problem.

I’m not jumping on anyone’s back here. If I thought there was any point in deleting this thread, I’d have done it long ago. |
For once, I support OANST. And the debate is getting a bit abstract and OT isn't it anyway? If a guy posts a website with OW concept art on it, it is public and anyone who wants it can see it and recommend it to friends/colleagues/whatever we are here at OWF(we're a pretty exclusive bunch aren't we?). Anyway, my whole point is that this thread is valid and the art is great, so speak up, anyone sitting on another secret!

The very fact this thread exists is proof the moderators don’t deem it worthy of closure. There’s no need to continue defending it.
